Song Survivor Round 2
So after Round 1 Sugar Daddy has been eliminated with 16 votes, but it was closely followed by Warm Ways on 15... will that be going next?

Goodness gracious. This is hard. I had forgotten how many wonderful songs are on this album. I wonder how many recent albums have had this kind of solid line-up. Most bands are lucky if their album has TWO good songs.

'I'm So Afraid'. It's never been a favorite, and anyway it pales in comparison to live versions.

Why does this poll have to come from a negative stance of the "worst song." Can't it be cast as the "best song?"

I was wondering that too. It's hard to vote for best also because tastes changes based on your mood at the time. These polls are dumb in my most humble opinion.

Warm Ways and Crystal are my two favorite songs from this album.

Don't apologize for making a poll, Viktor! Anyone who doesn't appreciate the tone of the poll can simply choose not to participate and/or create a poll more to their liking. *shrugs* Talking about songs we like and songs that we don't like so much are both always going to be an integral part of fandom chat. A conscious effort to always spin every discussion towards the positive is just going to get really old really quickly.
This poll has actually made me realise I actually dislike most of Christine's contributions to this album. (Or, excuse me, it's made me realize that my favourite songs are all the ones that are not written by Christine. ) It's a bit odd considering how much I enjoy her all of her work on Mystery to Me. Go figure. But I never really listen to this or Rumours as "albums", and usually just listen to the songs a la carte, so I've never actually noticed before. I voted Say You Love me, as that is one song that does irritate me no end for reasons unknown even to myself. But I'll have to face the fact that it's likely going to be in it for the long haul in this game. |

I just can't understand the lack of popularity for Warm Ways. Its just so, er, warm. An absolutely lovely, soothing song that makes me picture the beach in my head whenever I hear it (I guess Christine herself may have been influenced by Malibu beach?). This poll does remind you of how good this album is.

I actually think the contributions of Christine in the White Album, relative to the contributions of Buckingham and Nicks, are some of her best. 3 of the 4 singles released from the album are hers, 1 from Nicks and none from Buckingham. Okay, Sugar Daddy may not be the best, but overall I think Christine's contributions are great on this album. Btw, I love Warm Ways. Could some of the people who have voted it explain why? |
