Hello to all,
Martin Celmins new Duster Bennett Biography is now available. Haven't read it yet, but it looks very good, and includes some nice photos of Peter, and information regarding the 'Blue Horizon' Label. Check it out. Don |

Yes, I started reading last week, and I can say it's a very good book and, of course, plenty of Peter Green/F.Mac connections.
A very good Sessionography and over 100 photos, many of them unseen (at least for me) You can order a copy at www.jetmartin.co.uk Cheers, Mario. |

Hello to all,
Thanks Mario, for posting the link to purchase the book. I just wanted to say that I highly recommend it. A lot of research went into this publication. Martin did a great job with it, and I think it's something that folks who visit this portion of the Ledge, would enjoy reading. I would make for a nice Christmas gift :-) Cheers, Don |

Yes Don,
you are right, as in one book we have the Duster Bennett's story, the British Blues story and even the Blue Horizon's story. The book is a must have for every serious Peter Green/F.Mac/British Blues fan, and all in all a labour from the heart! Cheers, Mario. |

Just a Duster....

Your best bet is to get hold of 'Duster Bennett - The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions'. Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac was sort of a "house band" on a lot of Duster recordings with Blue Horizon, certainly on his first LP 'Smiling Like I'm Happy' from August 1968. PG plays guitar on some songs. I think also the next one 'Bright Lights Big City' from december 1969, where some numbers are recorded live at The Angel Godalming, Surrey on the 15th of April 1969. Here PG plays his famous six-string bass on some numbers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAIRRu3UPXY Of course Duster is blowing his heart out on 'Trying So Hard To Forget' on 'Mister Wonderful'. And probably also on other records that I don't know about....Oh yes - and he plays on B.B.King's 'Live In London' on the song 'Caldonia' on which PG plays guitar also. I am not quite sure about the third Lp '12 db's' from october 1970. And Martin Celmins has written a biography about Duster 'Jumping At Shadows' from 2007. Ms Moose |

P. Green and D. Bennett
Peter and Duster play together on Memphis Slim's CD - Blue Memphis and expanded The Blue Memphis Suite. The Blue Memphis Suite contains some interesting photos and among them one excellent with all the players.
