Default Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" inspired by Tusk?

Every single time I hear Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" on the radio, I can't help but think the band was inspired by Lindsey's Tusk tunes. The song especially reminds me of "Save Me A Place." From the strumming intro, to the pitter-patter shoebox type percussion, and the very sharp sounding vocal... the song is almost an amalgam of all of Lindsey's songs on Tusk. Tell me what y'all think:

I listened to the first minute of the song and the drum beat reminds me of Paper Doll.

No relationship at all.

There's a band that calls itself Train?!

As in choo-choo?

I really like this song--it's just silly and fun, but I hear similarity to Tusk.

Heard this song on the radio for a few weeks now. I had no idea it was Train though.

I think the song is fun, and it parts I guess I can trace a little Tusk, but it isn't that pronounced for me.

Love the song...in fact the entire new album, Save Me San Francisco, is amazing! Great San Francisco band.

I do not think of Tusk at all though when I hear it.

Everybody knows I'm not talking about the SONG Tusk, but Lindsey's songs on the album, right? When I hear this song I think of Save Me A Place, That's Enough For Me, I Know I'm Not Wrong and others. Go listen to those songs and tell me y'all don't hear a link between them and "Hey, Soul Sister." The guitar, percussion, and vocals all just ooze Tusk era Buckingham influence to me. Or maybe I'm just crazy?

I don't know so much about the similarities. Maybe a little. Although I did hear this song on the radio not long ago and really loved the song!
