Thanks--I'd been wondering what Irving's living room looked like.

SDMHA- Tom and the Heartbreakers which she added vocals to
Dreams- which became a hit because of John's signature bass line, Chris and Lindsey's backing vocals (with hers) on the pre chorus which was Ken's idea, and Lindsey's amazing guitar work winding through it and with Chris's amazing synth lines.

She can't do anything by herself. If left on her own, she could not sit and entertain an audience her and a piano (think Christine, or Tory Amos, or Billy Joel, for example) or her and a guitar (think Lindsey, Tom, Mike, Bruce, or a million others).

Just wait till she proves you wrong with her 2020 "One Woman Tambourine" tour!

well, now that u mention it, she maybe could do the ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding dah bit from Gypsy that Mike plonks out on 1 finger during the tour. Or maybe not. It's more than 2 notes (it was written by Lindsey, after all).

I could not agree more.

Most of her Fleetwood Mac songs are great because of the contributions of many: multiple musicians, vocalists, and producers combining their talents to make an outstanding work of art.

That said, her solo work quite frankly is weak. I cannot listen to her albums. I own all of them because I wanted to like them being such a FM fan for so long, and yet am NEVER compelled to listen to any of it... truly, NEVER. Whenever I have in the past, I get bored immediately. Her best song, as already mentioned, was gifted to her by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers after she basically stalked and hounded him. So she added vocals: big whoopee.

I will never understand why people love her solo work or pay big bucks to hear her sing it. I feel like any number of musicians could produce similar quality. It's no where close to her FM tracks and we all know why. /rant over

(side note: I've never understood why Fleetwood Mac agreed to perform Stand Back for so many tours. As if they don't have enough FM songs to choose from! I simply don't get it... except for Stevie throwing her weight around.)

There is NO WAY that Stevie could play that part, at least not in anything resembling real time and without dots pasted to the required keys.* I'm not even joking.

David Oberman should be able to back me up on that one.

(* Or STRINGS (??) if it's a Mike Campbell zitherphone. <-- Added in case Steve Hopkins is monitoring this hall of the Ledge!)

Which is probably why she worked the hardest to establish her own name. She couldn’t take anything for granted. Lindsey and Christine have significant gaps between albums and/or tours. Stevie doesn’t.

Thanks, cbBen! Lindsey looked so young back then!

I am amazed that you provided such a great link to a rare and wonderful performance by Lindsey here, and people instead choose to debate why certain songs by the band or solo members were hits. Give it a rest, folks! I mean, who cares?!? Why don't you watch that YouTube performance by Lindsey and enjoy it, instead of trying to bring people down by minimizing your least favorite member of FM, whether it be Stevie or Lindsey?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

WHY is $he counting off the song, when $he's the only one playing?

That sounds like $he could have turned around and played the keys with her arse, and sounded just as good. PLONK, PLONK, PLONK.

Thanks for posting that. I need a good laugh. What a maroon!

Lord, that is so bad.

It's how we learn our notes in our small jazz group to work out parts. Only with more notes. lol She may as well just speak the parts or growl them.

WHO counts off a song when accompanying themselves?

I remember a review for The Wild Heart, where the reviewer was making fun of her arrhythmic countoff at the beginning of Enchanted.

A musical genius, $he is.
