Question American Gigolo soundtrack "Man Machine"

This past weekend I was listening to the top 40 countdown on the Big 80s and Allan Hunter was telling the story how Stevie was offered to write the track to Giorgio Moroder's "Man Machine" track that eventually turned into Call Me by Blondie. Stevie had just signed with Modern which forbid her to partake in such an effort.
Thats commonly known but not the point of this thread. I just started to think of the possibilities of such a Stevie song to this track. Call Me was released in early 1980 during the peak of the Tusk tour. I don't see Stevie writing about a Gigolo or something sexual like Call Me. However since she was at her peak writing capabilities I do think she would have taken the song in another direction and it still would have been wildly successful. I would love to hear Stevie's input on this and what idea she had in mind. Everything happens for a reason and maybe its a good idea this did not happen because of the timing. Imagine the song being a big solo hit for Stevie in the middle of the Tusk tour. I think it would have been a distraction. Also it could have dampened Bella Donna. She would have already been a solo star with her hit and maybe another producer would have taken her in another direction, and we may have not gotten Bella Donna in its form. What if the song would have been a flop? It also could have grounded her solo career before it ever began.
Just fun to think about and I would love to have heard the song that never was. Call Me ended up being the #1 song of the entire year in 1980 with staying at #1 for 6 straight weeks. The song was perfect for the movie and promoted the movie like crazy.
But its fun to think about what if?
