Beyonce looks BEAUUUTIFUL!!! She is gorgeous!!

And Tina looks reaaally great! Yes at her 68 she looks so young..
But she doesn't move like in her 30s or 20s.. I've seen videos of old shows, she is a bit slower. It's like comparing Rhiannon this decade with the 70s. But still. she performs great!! I adoore her!

I have to agree with you here.. it actually doesn't. Some of my favorites didn't get their "album award" either.. as I LOVE Daughtry.. nothing.. I agree, as I think true musicians aren't out to seek the awards.. I think the awards just come to those people!

Wow. I just checked out the Tina/Beyonce stint on Youtube. It's great!

You rock, Tina.

I'm sure some artists think that way. Others think selling huge numbers makes their album great. Others think that if their fans like it & they themselves are happy with it, that makes it great.

I watch the Grammy's (on DVR so I can fast forward through all the bull**** ) to see the live performances. I thought it was a really good mix of music from several different genres, but nothing was all that spectacular. The last time something actually blew me away was when U2 & MJ Blige did "One" a few years back. Was that even the Grammy's? Maybe not. Anyway.....

I don't think of this as a country song (the CD is really good), but I guess it is. Jeez, have I gone country?

I think this is just rewards for the Eagles. Just about every country band you can think of has released at least one really awful (blatant ripoff) Eagles cover.

Which is usually about 98% of the show.

I think they should show some of the other categories winners get their awards...it is an AWARD Show after all, not a PERFORMANCE show ...

Best Contemporary Blues Album: Eric Clapton & JJ Cale - "Road To Escondido"
Best Short Form Video Album: Johnny Cash - "God's Gonna Cut You Down"
Best Classical Crossover Album: Turtle Island Quartet - "A Love Supreme: The Legacy Of John Coltrane"
Best Chamber Music Performance: Eighth Blackbird - "Strange Imaginary Animals"
Best Surround Sound Album: The Beatles - "Love" (George Martin & Giles Martin, producers; Paul Hicks, surround mix engineer; Tim Young, surround mastering engineer)
Best Historical Album: Woody Guthrie - "The Live Wire: Woody Guthrie In Performance 1949"
Best Instrumental Arrangement: Joe Zawinul - "In A Silent Way" (Vince Mendoza, arranger)
Best Spoken Word Album: Barack Obama - "The Audacity Of Hope: Thoughts On Reclaiming The American Dream"
Best Polka Album: Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra - "Come Share The Wine"
Best Reggae Album: Stephen Marley (would they give this award to anybody with any OTHER last name?) - "Mind Control"
Best Traditional Folk Album: Levon Helm - "Dirt Farmer"
Best Traditional Blues Album: Henry Townsend, Pinetop Perkins, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Honeyboy Edwards - "The Last Of The Great Mississippi Delta Bluesmen, Live In Dallas"
Best Rock Song: Bruce Springsteen - "Radio Nowhere"
Best Rock Instrumental Performance: Bruce Springsteen - "Once Upon A Time In The West" (From the Tribute to Ennio Morricone album)
Best Pop Collaboration with vocals: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - "Gone Gone Gone"

And a new category for next year:

Lifetime Achievement In Being Overrated: The Grammy goes to....

Kanye West

Give it to him now, he's already on his way to earning it. Maybe he'll stop whining then.

Well, remember it wasn't all that long ago that Jethro Tull won for Best Heavy Metal album.

"How Long" is more country-sounding to me than "Before He Cheats."

A couple Stevie connections: Joe Walsh was in the crowd, they put one of those winner captions up on the screen.

Dave Koz played sax w/ Kid Rock and what's her name.

Seeing that Slayer won the best metal award with a bonus track from a re-release (Which was associated with Rick Rubin) is proof that the Grammy's are indeed a popularity contest...

Machine Head's "The Blackening" should've been the winner.

You know, I think his tunes are catchy, and I think he's got some talent. But his attitude sucks. I guess it's all part of the act, his persona so to speak. But he isn't that good & the fact that he thinks he is makes him kind of a joke.

Exactly..I agree 500% - I mean, does he really feel people "owe" him or something? I don't think he's all that great either..
