The problem is the scumbag employees who don't wash their hand often enough, and thoroughly enough. If you thought about it/investigated it too much, you'd never go out to eat every again.

There was just a thing on the news the other night about drinking glasses in hotel rooms. Yeah, don't ever drink out of them. Although there are rules that they must be replaced every day, they're usually not. Sometimes they're just wiped off with a dirty towel, or cleaned with window cleaner.

Well, if it's something that will actually make you ill, something will most likely be done about it. Of course, the health department can't be at every place every day.....

There was an employee at one of the local grocery stores diagnosed with Hepatitis A last week. In order to transmit the virus, he would have had to poop, wipe, not wash his hands, handle raw food & then the consumer would have had eat the raw food. But the person worked in produce, so the county HD didn't take any chances - they made an announcement about what store they worked at & did free immunization clinics for the past week. People who actually may have been exposed got immunoglobulin. I think they went above & beyond what had to be done, and for the most part, people are grateful.

Of course, you still have people bitching that they had to wait in line for 2 or more hours. Well, they vaccinated 10,000 people in 5 days. That's pretty damn good under the circumstances (no time to plan, order supplies, etc.)
