Default Presidential Elections & "Theme Music"

I have been wondering.

Bill Clinton used "Don't Stop" as a campaign theme, because he liked the song. It just so happened to be one of the songs on Rumours, one of the most successful selling records, which baby boomers, who were also registered voters, bought in droves. I think voters identified with him and his choice of music.

(I think George H. W. Bush , that same year, used "Happy Days are Here Again" at the Republican National Convention, but I may be wrong.)

If a candidate were to choose a song off another popular CD, which appealed to 18-40 year old voters, what song do you think that would be?

NO please. Any connection with Michael Jackson is political suicide.

I learned to hate Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" from (Mondale) campaign overexposure, just like I now hate "Don't Stop".

I know I heard that a Celine Dion song has been chosen for somebody - Is it Hillary? I was a little surprised she picked a song by a Canadian. Not that I care where the artist is from, it's just that usually these campaigns try to cram cheap/superficial patriotic gestures down our throats, so I expected American artists only.

Yeah, but how about that song about the guy with rats. Imagine it as a campaign song.

I think one of the candidates ought to use Minnie Riperton's "Reasons."

I had a dream last night that Fleetwood Mac reunited for Hillary's inaugural gala & Stevie dedicated "Everybody Finds Out" to "Our dear friend, Bill, & you-know-who."
(This is what happens when you listen to too much Mac music, read too many political threads here, & eat spicy food before bedtime.)

No way!

I had a similar dream...that FM sang...at the Dem's convention...and Christine was there....but I couldn't recognize the song...

(P.S. We ate spicy tacos and spicy salsa last night.)

With all this talk of change, perhaps one of them should use the theme from The Biggest Loser.

Have you guys seen this?

That must have taken some time to make.
(Time for someone to make the Stevie "Nothing Ever Changes" version with clips of Huckabee to "I could be the dancer of your dreams."
