Why didn't Christine have a bigger solo career? Was it because she was so devoted to FM? I remember Ann Wilson being asked about a solo career & she said it's because she was true to Heart & didn't have time for a solo career. She's done a number of solo songs for soundtracks & even released a solo album a few years back. I never got into Christine's solo stuff & honestly all I ever knew was her lone solo hit 'Got A Hold On Me', which is awesome! I'll have to listen to some more stuff from her!

I don't consider any of Christine's material "bland." Rather, I'd say that there is a range of styles in her material as well as a range of production values. The mid-period FM stuff was more rocking, the 1983 S/T was more produced, 'In the Meantime' is warmer and more intimate. Maybe to some ears those more highly produced ('CM') or more intimate ('ITM') styles sound bland, but I don't agree with that.
Chris only recorded three solo albums, and they are very different one from the other, and all deserve a place in any FM fan's record collection. Her early solo album ('Christine Perfect') contains some of the best keyboard playing of her career, so if you're a fan of Chris as a musician you would enjoy listening to that one, too.

Hence the difference between Christine and Lindsey. Lindsey wanted to be the center of attention and Stevie kind of was.
