BlueGrass...I don't have a CLUE why Lindsey doesn't EVER get the props he deserves. I agree with you, he is THE best guitarist alive...but that's just our opinion. Everyone else out there thinks Hendrix, Clapton and Page are the greatest ever...that's THEIR opinion...fine, it's all valid. They ALL have different styles, so it's kinda dumb to have a list anyways, especially, when we all are touched by different axe-players in different ways.

Emotionally....it's all about the way they touch your soul.

Technically....it's all about perception IMO.

I just got my magazine! Im so pissed.

They are saying Joan Jett is a better guitarist then Lindsey? I mean he couldn't get 100? He's that poor?!

Peter Green was up there, so its like saying, Peter Green is the FM guitarist and even though Lindsey managed to stay sane and valid, he gets shunned for barely being around when that blues sound was so respected.

Its because Lindsey is connected to a certain kind of music he gets shunned. Im just so disappointed! We all need to send mail.

I know, isn't that sad? I think that this time, RollingStone really made a big boo boo! I bet with the way Lindsey is, he's like pissed off right now and everyone that was near him when he found out that he was not on the list--they all ran away and ran for cover! I can hear Stevie now, "UH-OH! He's gonna blow! Ruuuuun!" LOL! Poor Linds Linds...He knows he's good though, he's admired and he knows that he has talent. God, I love that man! Shhh...Don't tell Stevie or his wife...LOL!

I couldn't have put it better. I was looking at that issue in a bookstore yesterday. I was so mad! I thought, "Where is Lindsey? He could play circles around some of these folks, if not all of them. What are these people thinking!" Anyway, they selected some people that I don't think have even proved themselves yet! Lindsey has definitely proved himself, time and time again.

I was so disgusted with this issue when I got it last week that it just went in one brain cell and out the other.

I was gonna do the whole deal about Joan Jett's inclusion, but ya beat me to it, Janet....

JOAN JETT?!?!?!?!? Ye gods!!!!

It's so obvious that this list must be a joke.... I agree, they gotta put the pipe down.....

I really don't have a problem with Joan Jett b/c she's a woman but I do think that Lindsey deserved a spot on there...It was just ludacrous.

There's no way Joan Jett is a better guitar player than Melissa Etheridge.

Well I can't really say who is better b/c I have like not heard much of 'Joan Jett' at all but I have heard a lot of 'Melissa Etheridge.' Did I spell Melissa's name right?

Yes that's right. She also studied at the Berklee College of Music. I guess she didn't fit Rolling Stone's demographic for this issue.

Red face Meh

Ahhh...People that work in this music biz don't know much of anything anymore. I mean, look at the people that they give record deals to, Britney, Justin, Jho, and all these other rappers! What is the world coming to? It's just like what Lindsey said! LOL! He's so true on that! But really, where's the new talent? I'm right here and they chose to look passed me at the American Idol auditions...I was told that this year the show is allll about bubblegum pop...Now how long is that Idol that is picked this year gonna last with that crappy style in music? Ugh!

They don't care as long as they make a big pile of cash-NOW. They aren't interested in developing talent and building catalogs-part of the reason their sales are so crappy. Brittany Spears is worth an estimated $46 million dolllars. But by the time she's 30-well let's just say I hope she invests wisely.

Thumbs down

Yeah, that Britney sure is worth a lot of money and she does not deserve all that money...She has like 0 talent and a lot of people that I know think that she will end up being in pornos b/c she is just so sucky at everything and she just sells 'sex.' I mean, u should have seen the auditions that I went to...I mean, there were a lot of talented people there that were turned away. My friends that I met there were turned down and u would not believe how much talent they both had! Me2! I like was told that I had a beautiful voice and I know that I do--the judge that I sung for was just an a$$ and he did not care what u sounded like. It was just a big mess and I don't think I could go through telling the whole story again...

Melissa Etheridge and Joan Jett (who by the way are BOTH rhythym guitar players) SUCK THE BIG ONE in comparison to Lindsey.

I was soooo pissed that they put Joni Mitchell waaaayy down there. She, Bonnie Raitt, and Emily Saliers (where the hell were they) are truly the great guitarists of this previous age.....
