Yes, we understood Olive.
I don't really think that's Stevie's shawl either, but she seems so adamant that I messaged her to ask her to explain.
However if we really want to be honest, all of the outerwear above is damn ugly.

Why do people think that's Stevie's shawl?

There are lots of shawls in the world.

However, the image from the When Doves Cry video does look weirdly like Stevie.

I don't know, I guess since Prince usually doesn't wear shawls and Stevie does and that really looks like a tipical Stevie shawl then it may have been a gift from Stevie. It's not so wild, Stevie often gives to friends things made for them.
The image is a bit more interesting. Maybe it isn't truly Stevie but someone made a sketch that resembled her and it ended up being used as a backdrop.

More than inspired, it may be a gift Stevie could have made do for Prince with a flowery pattern he would have liked and the typical structure of her shawls that she likes so much and in her mind he could have appreciated for a change.
Or simply Prince for one night desired misteriously a shawl.

One of my favorite Prince songs is 17 Days and I've always thought that there were certain similarities to her Thousand Days and his 17 Days.

I always wondered if the bit

was about her, because that sounds so like her... she's always going on about how lonely the road is, how lonely her house is, men can't take her lifestyle, etc etc etc.
