Default "On With The Show" Re-vamped

I know hypothetical setlists are, really, a waste of time. However, I can't help but thinking that if FM had perhaps taken it a little easier with the amount of dates they were playing and, say, only booked a couple of dates per week, we could have gotten a much more varied and slightly longer (actually 3 hours worth) setlist.

With that mind, what would be your new, re-vamped setlist (30 songs / 3 hours):

Mine:

01. The Chain
02. Say You Love Me
03. I Don't Want To Know
04. Second Hand News
05. Dreams
06. Eyes Of The World
07. Rhiannon
08. Everywhere
09. Tango In The Night
10. Seven Wonders
11. Little Lies
12. Big Love - Acoustic
13. Landslide - Acoustic
14. Never Going Back Again - Acoustic
15. Over My Head - Acoustic
16. Gypsy - Acoustic
17. I Know I'm Not Wrong
18. Tusk
19. Think About Me
20. Sara
21. Oh Daddy
22. Gold Dust Woman
23. I'm So Afraid
24. You Make Loving Fun
25. Go Your Own Way

26. World Turning
27. Don't Stop
28. Silver Springs

29. Songbird
30. Blue Letter

I think that this would more than fit the bill for what this tour is about. Rumours played in full, though not altogether, with sections devoted to Tusk and Tango. Nothing really rare, except I Don't Want To Know, Tango In The Night, and Think About Me but I think this would make a lot of fans happy. Possibly too long, but if the band paced themselves they could pull this one off.

If only we could have control...

Also, I think that Lindsey needs a vocal break in between I'm So Afraid and Go Your Own Way. If the band ever tours again, I hope that this is rectified. He sounds absolutley beat by the end of GYOW.

It should be called the "Pipe Dream Tour"
I would add the deep cuts from Tusk from Christine
Never Forget tonight
Over and Over
Never Make Me Cry
Honey Hi
Brown Eyes

And the gems from Mirage
Love in Store
Hold Me
Straight Back

From Tango
Isn't it Midnight
Tango in the Night

Others
Drop Never Going Back Again for Save Me a Place
Drop Sisters for Sara

Crystal

Completely agree. Replace "Over My Head" with "Why" and "Never Going Back Again" with a Buckingham/Nicks tune.

1 The Chain
2 You Make Loving Fun
3 Eyes Of The World
4 Thrown Down
5 Everywhere
6 I Know I'm Not Wrong
7 Sisters Of The Moon
8 Tusk
9 Think About Me
10 Seven Wonders
11 Say You Love Me
12 Sara

Acoustic:
13 Bleed To Love Her
14 Landslide
15 Races Are Run

Mick plays the "cocktail kit":
16 Honey Hi
17 The Ledge
18 Dreams

Then the band returns to their regular stage setup:
19 Hold Me
20 Gypsy
21 Second Hand News
22 Little Lies
23 Gold Dust Woman
24 I'm So Afraid
25 World Turning
26 Go Your Own Way

Encore:
27 Blue Letter
28 Don't Stop
29 Rhiannon (start with a piano version, with only Stevie and Christine, before the band joins in)
30 Songbird

-------------

I wanted to add Isn't It Midnight, Oh Well, Get Like You Used To Be, Angel, etc. but it is hard to come up with a set that doesn't omit too many big hits, equally represents all 3 songwriters, and has a satisfying flow/structure to it that feels right.

I just really, really, really wish to have Songbird and Seven Wonders back. I have never heard them live and they are two of the most magnificent songs ever written.

As for unrealistic hopes,
I would like to see Storms, Steal Your Heart Away and Goodbye Baby added.

I mean really, please replace Sisters of the Moon with Storms. <3

I thought the set was a bit clunky in parts the way they have played it....I just felt for whatever reason, the same songs just rearranged into a different order may have worked better. I also agree that cutting the number of songs down and adding Christine back in has really limited the amount of deviation from the normal warhorse heavy set. I would have gone back to 26 songs (that's how long The Dance Tour was) and broken the slow stuff up a bit more...and also did a little better job of spreading the set out to the non-FM/Rumours albums.
  1. Second Hand News
  2. You Make Loving Fun
  3. Dreams
  4. Hold Me
  5. Seven Wonders
  6. Bleed to Love Her
  7. Spare Me a Little
  8. What Makes You Think You're The One
  9. Brown Eyes
  10. Beautiful Child
  11. Blue Letter
  12. Gypsy
  13. World Turning
  14. Songbird
  15. Big Love
  16. Landslide
  17. Why
  18. Gold Dust Woman
  19. Tango in the Night
  20. Little Lies
  21. Tusk
  22. Sisters of the Moon
  23. Go Your Own Way
  24. The Chain
  25. Don't Stop
  26. Silver Springs

Really? What's so great about Sisters of the Moon? :S

I mean it's a nice track but, even being a huge fan of Stevie, I feel no emotional connection to it whatsoever... it doesn't even have a catchy melody. :/ I actually think studio is better than live.

Besides opening with "The Chain" and MAYBE "Dreams" early in the set and now that Christine's back, "You Make Loving Fun", all other Rumours songs should by NOW be taken out of the main set & relegated to encore tunes. Leave the main set for non-Rumours deep tracks & new unreleased material. Time to get out of the "nostalgia rut".

Default Pipe Dream Tour is right

Having missed the Unleashed show, I'd drop just about anything to hear Storms live. There are a lot of Christine songs that could slide in, Hold Me (the demo version would be GREAT), Why, Isn't It Midnight, Believe Me could work, I'd even like to hear her do Nights in Estoril but that would be the pipe-iest of dreams. Sara could come back and some Mirage Lindsey tracks would be nice. Book of Love would do it for me. Sad Angel, Crystal in the acoustic set, Steal Your Heart Away. I'd also like to hear What Makes You Think You're the One just once. And i saw this somewhere else, but I agree, the last chunk of songs needs to be rearranged so Lindsey isn't breathless during Don't Stop. Cut him some slack.

Because SOTM ROCKS, and Storms is a napfest?(I HATE sleepy songs)

I love SOTM!

Emotional connection? Woah!

Sisters of the Moon definitely rocked in 1980 and 1982.
This new abbreviated version does not rock.

And her tone quality isn't good on it. I love the tune.. Rather hear Straight Back or Sweet Girl...

The real shame with Storms is that no live version exists from 1979-1980. I wonder how the band would have done it then. It just didn't pop the same way the studio recording does, at least the arrangement they did for the live setting. Beautiful Child, however, sounded great in 2004. That one should make a return---I think it's the best of Stevie's Tusk songs LIVE right now.
