I really hope someone records this/takes photos. How exciting to actually be there.

Please please, somebody record this and post it to youtube, even if its a crappy cell phone video. Or at least get some photos of her on stage.
Oh to be a fly on the wall backstage.

Nice to see Rick with them too. Everybody seems they are enjoying the night.

I am deadly serious: please can someone record this or get a photo?

I'm so envious of anyone who manages to go.

I wonder what she'll play and/or sing?

Oh, and it's weird that (if she *is* playing) she didn't jam with the blues band when they came to Kent a few years back. She apparently, for that show, hovered at the back complaining that the keyboards weren't loud enough!

Do we think something has changed? Has she had advice, or counselling, saying that to dispel the fear of flying and live performance you have to get out there and confront them?!

Was there ever really a fear of performing, though?

I always felt that the whole issue was with all of the flying/traveling and that the touring issue just came as a result of that.

Sadly there was a fear of live performance. All her 2004 interviews seem to touch on it. In one she refers to the lights and the boards of the stage making her dizzy; in another - the radio interview with the BBC - she says she feels stage fright, as though she might have a heart attack if she had to go up.

I mean, in theory, if it were only the travel and suitcase-living she would have joined the band for one song in London or done a small tour / one-off concert in 04 for her solo album.

I tend to believe that something is afoot. I don't know anything. But I don't believe in accidents or things just happening for the hell of it. I don't think Christine has just only recently decided to come out of seclusion to do a couple of interviews because there was nothing else to do. And I don't think she flew all the way to Hawaii just to work on her tan; indeed, she's had the past three years to do this while Fleetwood Mac was on hiatus and Mick and John were men at leisure. The timing is a bit... strange... especially now that Mick is perhaps busier than ever. And the real clincher... just look at her. I don't know what she has had done, but clearly she has undergone some kind of rejuvenation since her dog walking pics of several years ago. To put it another way, she doesn't look like a stereotypical moribund 70-year-old recluse who has retreated into the shadows and is merely waiting for the long, dark night. Her roots are touched up. She has a sparkle in her eyes. She's prepared herself for... something.

Perhaps one theory for her flying out to Hawaii is because Christine is seriously considering stepping back on stage in London. After not stepping on a stage in 15 years, she is probably terrified at the thought of stepping out in front of 20,000 people, so perhaps she is using Mick's gig as a low key way to shake off the cobwebs. Start off the grid. Start small. Start by playing simple blues shuffles. If she has a good experience, she would feel much better about performing in London. And it's not entirely impossible that she may also want to test drive a new song or two- songs that perhaps she may be thinking of recording with the band? On the other hand, it would be extremely disappointing if this gig in Maui is Christine's first and last foray back into the public eye.

Hmmm... the Castle Theatre is much bigger than a little club...

Yeah, I agree with your points. Also, it's funny she's scheduled time with Stevie during the band rehearsals....

We can only hope she doesn't just perform in London if that's what's going on here.

Hmm, I never thought of it like that. You make some very good points.

Well, there IS a major release that could be a goldmine for her.

Again, it may have something to do with the "Rumours" reissue (i.e. new interviews with all of them). It just so happens that it's happening on the eve of a tour. It also wouldn't surprise me if she genuinely wanted to get out of England for a bit.

Yeah, she prepared herself for cameras. Mick Fleetwood stands out like a sore thumb, and she knows by now that she'll be photographed if she goes out anywhere with him, and since she's his guest... Those pics from a few years back were candids.

We also don't know that she won't change her mind. She's not exactly on the bill. She might be at the show, with an open invite to play with the band, but not step foot on stage. It's fun to think that she would somehow come back, but I have major doubts (though hope I'm wrong).

My dream with that situation is that Mick, John, Christine, and Rick play something as a quartet. It would be a cool Fleetwood Mac reunion of a different type.

Even if there was not going to be press, when you're going to see people who haven't seen you in 14 years, I think you try to doll yourself up. Get a hair cut, touch up the roots, wax the facial hair. I mean, we try to look good for a high school reunion, don't we?

You don't exactly want to give your ex-husband the Bag Woman Special, do you?

Then, when they get to Los Angeles, it's not like Stevie is going to be schlepping over to meet her in sweats and giant rollers. Both women will want to look nice for each other -- at least initially. The hair will come down and make up will come off some time later.

Oh, wow. I didn't even pay attention to where they would be. I thought it was going to be on the patio at Mick's restaurant or something.

She saw them on the "Say You Will" and Unleashed tours, and had Mick and Rick stay at her place when when they toured England. I remember somebody posting a picture, I think from 2009, with the five backstage.

Add to that your friends are Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, and your ex is John McVie, and YOU were the one who had the most hits in THEIR band... Just saying that she has probably gone out of her way to look great because she knows there are going to be cameras everywhere, especially L.A.
