Best: Carnival Begin! I wish Stevie sang on this so much. I feel like Stevie's Have No Heart could fit in next to this song.

Worst: At least some cliche and uninspired lyrics on almost every song. Even my favorite, Carnival Begin, has "North, West, East, and South". Every time I hear it I cringe a little thinking of Kimye's baby. Varies from a few cringey lyrics on a song, to IMHO the whole song is ruined due to the lyrics. Worst of the worst is "I never meant to give you a frown". I'm actually mortified on Lindsey's behalf.

Frown is a terrible choice! It's cringe worthy.

i have to laugh every time when i read this from someone - it's actually probably my favorite lyric in that song, and i think it's really cool way to express who he's talking to / about. if you all don't understand it go watch Parent Trap - there's a whole conversation about a very similar British phrase there.

Where are you from?

In American English, it's just a very cheesy way of wording something. The way a 1st grade child might rhyme something!

England, Surrey. To me it just sounds like common parlance...doesn't sound strange or childish. Maybe that's just me though.

It must be a British thing.

So Lindsey has no excuse!

It is a British thing. Finally you get it! He's talking about a british person in that song and that phrasing as well as "round the corner" is meant to quote and convey that message - obviously not working for many peeps not listening to language subtitles in the US of A.

It didn't sound strange to me either, but I didn't want to even open my mouth.

Thanks for the explanation! I think I may have understood the meaning.

Game of Pretend has really grown on me especially since I know the inspiration for the song. "You are the reason for my happiness" a song written for Chris's therapist to get her through her dark days. Just such an inspirational song.
It was one of my least favorite tracks when I first played the album. But its moving up the charts with a bullet.

Thank goodness you're here to give us the writer's intent.

After watching last night's intro, I think so, yes.

Game of Pretend was an immediate favorite from me on the first listen. It feels like stepping into a time capsule - could have been on Tusk and I wouldn't have known it was from 2017!
