Default New Fleetwood Mac Tour

In response to "Mick Fleetwood Blames Nicks For Fleetwood Mac Tour Trouble" I am setting up my first Poll!

Like many in the above thread I am not interested in another FM tour without new FM Music.

Both LB and SN have recently released great new solo work.

This should mean that the "large machine" should be able to release some great new material, although this would probably require using a new producer who has excellent mediation skills and all the FM members agreeing to hand over some power and abide by the umpires decision.

Vote + comment away!

I would welcome a new album with an outside producer to calm the Lindsey/Stevie waters, and to make sure that John McVie's bass talents are out front in the mix where they should be. I think it's time to stop the mega tours and have a more intimate affair with smaller select venues. If it's really about the music then treat the real fans to an intimate night of nuggets and avoid the most of rumours set lists that have dominated all tours since Tusk.

I maybe in the Minority but......Call it a day. I loathed SYW. it just did not work without Chris. I have no interest in an album OR a Mac without her

Just a tour would be fine with me!

And THEN an album with tour!

Minority, party of two!

It doesn't work without Christine. They're just an oldies band now, anyway.

Question: would they be any less of an oldies band with Christine?

I liked SYW! I could still feel a little of that FM magic/chemistry. Granted, it should have been like 12-15 songs, but that can be excused, as it was still one CD. I'm just curious to see if they could put together anything worthwhile nowadays- I bet they could, if they really tried and weren't primarily motivated by money. I think each member may be slightly weak as far as solo work lately (although I loved SWS and thought it was one of Lindsey's best), they could support each other when they play together and still sound great.

Here's what I would like to see...

...a small FM tour later this year while they work on a new album, even a greatest hits-type album with a few new songs a la the '88 GH album. Then a new album and big worldwide tour in 2013/2014.

In other words, something small to begin with getting everybody's toes wet and then the big stuff.

Assuming all current band members are game...

No but I'd bet they'd make a better sounding new original album. Classic harmonies coming back........but they'd still for sure be an oldies band.....that's what the fans like to hear.

No, although the full lineup would be more of a reason for me to attend!

BUT ALSO, the full lineup would most likely be able to construct much more of a FM sounding album. Lessee here, their primary hitmaker was retired, for SYW. Do I have that timeline correctly?

FM does feel weird without Christine. I wish I could've seen them live while she was still in the band. The addition of Chris would definitely be something worth coming out for, but she'll never go back to them. I'm sure reuniting with FM is about as appealing an offer as a root canal to her these days.

A good reason why they should add 1 or 2 new members, to have more of a full lineup.

Agreed. Hell, Bob Welch has said that he would do it! Even if he only sang 3 or 4 of his bigger songs, that would add variety that they need.

BUT, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. They don't want to share the stage, and it must be 1977, because they're still milking that old war horse, Tumours.

The only thing that bothers me more than them still milking relationships that ended THIRTY SIX years ago, are the shipper fans who still lap up that soured(and expired) milk.

Thanks. I'm honest to a fault, and always call a spade a spade! (and no offense really intended, but shippers work my last nerve[I need a vomit emoticon here!])

If they need a backing guitarist, WHO BETTER than Welch? Let him sing a few songs. "I" would pay for that. I won't pay for Buckingham/Nicks yelling/4 note singing range fiasco....
Just sayin'!

And someone posted yesterday, about me hating Tumours. I do not hate it. It is the most important album of my entire life(fell in love with it, and honestly, my career in music...most likely would never have happened, had it not been BECAUSE of my obsession with it). So I love it. But it's what creatively killed FM, because they're still promoting it strongly, 35 years after it's release. That, is an embarrassment, to them as "artists".
