What a treasure trove!
Thanks for the tip!
I didn't see any details about the release, though?

Yes, thanks so much for the link to that website, zoork! It's hard to tell when anything will actually be released, but I suppose you can email the John the Revelator website for more info.

Default Peter live with Mayall 1967

Thanks indeed for these links, zoork! The John the Revelator site certainly whizzed me back 40 odd years, as Tom Huissen (who recorded the Bluesbreaker tapes) was staying with me and my brother John at our parents' house when most of the tapes were recorded. I was at some of the gigs and John at all of them. It's slightly miffing, though, that almost all of the Mayall/Green photographs from that period on the site were taken by John, and he's not credited, as far as I can see. I must contact Tom and try to get that rectified -- and also find out if CDs of the performances are available.

Hello Derek. I know from the Pre-Rumours site (and the Revelator site)that your brother finally got his credits, but did you find out about whether the cd's are or will be available?
There is no mention of it on the Revelator site.

Thanks a million - Ms Moose

Hi, Ms Moose. There's actually an issue about the tapes that John is trying to resolve with Tom, and I'd rather not say anything until this is sorted out.

Default The CDs will be available ? :-)

I got an answer from Tom Huissen (vocalist/bass player John the Revelator):

The CD's are not for sale yet.
I am trying to work out a deal to get them released.
As soon as they are for sale, I will let you know.

Hope for the best :-)
Krzysztof

YES! A treasure trove it is! Thank you Zork 1. ! (And Tom for being there )

I almost fell of the chair with happiness at the sound of these recordings.

It seems that a lot of people have e-mailed the web site and asked how to get hold of the cd's but has gotten no answer.

Default Peter and his "out-of-phase" sound

I always thought that Peter dismanteled his pick-ups and accidentally put them back together out of phase during his early Fleetwood Mac period.
Now listening to Double Trouble I realize that this must have happened in his Mayall years.

Default Early '67

From what I've read Peter played without a neck pickup for a period while in Mayall. Then he decided to get it repaired, and the rest is history. So I think it was probably fixed during the winter/early spring of '67 (a good guess).

I have them - absolutely essential listening. Finally get to hear Four Million Nobs (or One Million Nobs) which I believe mutated into Greeny (is this right) but is here played as a Freddie King salute and is extraordinary on the Marquee Tape. On the Ram Jam tape is more sedate and less inspired (to my ears).

Highlights: San-Ho-Say, So Many Roads, Stormy Monday, Tears In My Eyes, Four Million Nobs, The Stumble (natch).

Unfortunately I never managed to get hold of them. I wrote to the website, but never got a reply, like a lot of other people - as far as I can see from the writings on the site.

It's sad that they cannot be released officially - they are a treasure (musically, historically, culturelly). But as far as I remember there was legal complications about ownership).

It's great to hear that AccidentalLight got lucky. How did you do that?

Ms Moose
