I don't think it'll get a good chart position as it hasn't had any promotion.

Well, I am hoping that it debuts in the top 20.. but I am not counting on it.

I very much doubt it will even chart in the UK. Without promotion how is anyone supposed to even know about it!

I'm going to wait to answer this until I see where Rolling Stone's Best Of hits. Billboard updates the charts on Thursdays...so I won't know until then, unless someone subscribes to Billboard Magazine and can tell us where it landed. But I think FM will parallel or maybe be a little lower than the RS Best Of.

I believe that Billboard 200 is based on weekly sales. The first week sales like Stevie's TISL will be high and then decrease dramatically. I would be very suprised if it didn't debut in the top 10. It will then drop off dramatically.
Remember, all big fans like us have already preordered or will order soon or buy on the 15th or that week. I would say US #9, UK #15 Gold by Nov, Platinum by Feb.

I think that it could go either way. I think that because it is "The Best Of" album that some hardcore fans may forgo this album in anticipation of the new album coming out at the beginning of the year, because they already own all of these songs. This could cause the charting to be down. On the other hand, people who are not as hardcore like us who like the Mac will probably see this as a great purchase, because it has all the classics. Therefore, they would see it as a good cd to add to their collection, and it would be charted higher. It is sad, but where it charts could be based more on how many non-hardcore fans see it as a worthy buy, so if we want a good chart appearance hardcore fans need to support the cause and purchase "The Best Of..." album!

It will barely register on the charts. GH packages that are double albums rarely chart well. A combination of cost and the fact they attract more of the serious fan. Of course the cost of producing these packages is very low so making a profit does not require too much in the way of sales.

I'm afraid that since there are no new songs on this album, it will not sell all that well. The new Rolling Stones Greatest Hits album at least has some new songs on it.

If they just did one promotion and Rolling Stone did something...cool. But they are saving up for the album.
I dont think it will do **** until Christmas...then they will promote it more...put it in front of stores then it will see top 20. Im disappointed. I just thought we'd here MORE about this.
