Default What are your favorite live Mac songs?

I think all Fleetwood Mac songs are terrific when heard live, but we all have our favorites. I was thinking with the new tour coming up next year, that it would be interesting to talk about which Mac songs are best live.

I guess if I had to pick my favorites they would be, in no particular order: (1) Go Your Own Way--it is awesome when he does that extended guitar play at the end. Lindsey really gets into the guitar on that song and plays/sings with lots of emotion. (2) Silver Springs---it is awesome live, because of the emotion that pours out. It is very powerful to see and hear Stevie sing that song live.

I guess that it is interesting that I picked the two songs that Lindsey and Stevie wrote about each other. I guess that is what makes them fabulous, because of the true, raw emotion behind them. I guess it really pours out in the live versions. I'm sure when they can see the person that the song is about in front of them, they sing and play it with more power and emotion.

Earlier performances of Rhiannon were amazing. I also really liked Lindsey's acoustic set on the Dance.

I will have to agree with Mattress. The earlier performances of Rhiannon were amazing. I'm glad you brought that up. That would be one of my favorites too!

Heart Great question

My favorite of the songs Stevie does live these last few years is Gold Dust Woman. I love the "pick up the pieces and go HOOOOMME" wail more than anything.

The acoustic performance of Gypsy at AHI 2000 was amazing as well.

As far as what I'd love for them to do this go round? Sisters of the Moon and Angel (and the peppy version of Rhiannon!) Oh, and I think I'd die of happiness if Lindsey did Come and Twist of Fate.

I'm So Afraid
Go Your Own Way
Blue Letter
Silver Springs
Landslide
Gold Dust Woman
Seven Wonders
Brown Eyes

I think I'd like to see "Big Love" done non-acoustically...love grunts and all

Thumbs up

-Rhiannon live, between 1975-77 is definitely my favorite (with all the verses and high notes, etc)
-Angel live from the Tusk documentary where Linds puts his arm around Stevie and the teeth-achingly beautiful harmony comes out of them.
-I'm So Afraid (any era, but especially when Stevie sings harmonies in the chorus)
-World Turning (especially from early years when Stevie belts out random harmonies, and I love Micks drum solos!!!)
-You Make Loving Fun (Rumours tour)
-Everywhere
-Oh Well (With Lindsey)
-Over My Head

Many more I can't think of...
-Sonia

Wink

I definitely agree with you guys on the early versions of Rhiannon and also the emotion that they deliver for Silver Springs. I also love I'm So Afraid live. But my favorite live version of any FM song yet is Gypsy from the Mirage video. I love how Stevie really gets into it and kind of changes the notes starting at the part "Well if I was a child" and so on. I also love for Angel when Stevie and Lindsey do the part at the mic together.

Hmmmm.....

Early Rhiannon (I wish she still put energy into it like she used to)
Sisters of the Moon
I'm So Afraid (early w/ Stevie)
Sara
Angel
That early Christine song...."Why don't you give up, why is it all wrong....why don't you love me...." etc.
Station Man
Oh Well

Kristin
