WelCh. Welsh is the witch.
My favorite era. Mystery To Me, is THE greatest FM album. Having Bob rejoin the band, would make perfekt sense(after losing Christine), but apparently the band doesn't think so.... Can you imagine having Bob on 2nd guitar, even if he only did 4-5 songs during the show? The different flavor that that would give us? Oh yeah, but they're still milking Tumours. I know I just hit a wrong letter.....too lazy to correct it
Funny Mystery To Me....is ok. There's 3 tracks on that I skip. I enjoy the follow up more. My fav album from that era is Bare Trees I would LOVE Bob back as well. At this point it would get me interested again. As frankly I'm tired of the way the Mac is now. Either that or call it quits....seriously.

I always mix up Bare Trees and Future Games...only because they both fit on one disc, and I've had them like that for 10 years. I love Woman of 1000 Years. |

I have only heard Mystery to Me not that long ago and I loved it. Bob Welch rules, and Chrissy Mac has plenty of awesomeness from that era too. Now, I need to go and yell at my friend to send me those MP3s of Emerald Eyes and Just Crazy Love, my 2 fave songs from the album I can actually remember the names to (it was on a burned CD that just has track 1, track 2, etc. when put into a computer to rip and just came in a sleeve from another friend)
Now, I got 2 questions: 1.Should I listen to Bare Trees of Heroes are Hard to Find next? 2.Has anyone ver heard this story before: when Lindsey left the band in 1987, Bob almost replaced him, but something fell through in the end EDIT: And I just realized now I just broke 2k posts. Either that's awesome or downright pathetic Last edited by MissLadyLoki; 01-03-2011 at 12:55 PM.. |

Well my answer to your question...Go for Bare Trees. I just love the whole mood of that album. Plus it has The Ghost. Hero's is brilliant too. you can't go wrong with either one really.
As for that story,,,,never heard it. If it's true that would have been so awesome. Mick

Those were my exact thoughts too when I first heard that story. Same goes when I first heard about Dave Mason being a member when he spoke on the radio. I thought it would've been awesome, but after he said Time was the worst album he ever made (and mind you, he's been around since the 60's), I decided i wasn't exactly gonna rush into listening to it EDIT: I'm pretty sure I heard it on 102.3 WBAB (you live on LI and like rock, you're gonna know that station), but i still can't get over how, from being in the US for so many years, he lost his accent and now sounds like he's from Brooklyn Last edited by MissLadyLoki; 01-03-2011 at 01:12 PM.. |

That aside, back on topic. I was a bit of a Mac fan, but what really got me started were 2 things: hearing Rumours on vinyl (my dad had gotten it when it came out when he was my age and still has it to this day) and seeing 'em live on the Unleashed tour at MSG. While different things came out of it (I'm now a nerd for records and "borrowed" a whole bunch from my uncle and wanna go to tons of concerts for bands I love, including having seen Jethro Tull at Jones Beach last year on the same exact date I saw the Mac and I wanna see Van Halen this year), I came to really appreciate how awesome their music really was

This topic...again?
Ok..this time only the short version. You want the long version, check the old threads. 1) Age 10, fan of Eric Clapton's in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, bass player is John McVie. 2) Clapton leaves Bluesbreakers to co-found Cream, replaced by some guy named Peter Green 3) Hear "The Supernatural" & "The Stumble", become fan of Peter Green 4) Peter Green leaves Bluesbreakers to form own band...names it Fleetwood Mac. 5) Hear "Black Magic Woman", become fan of Fleetwood Mac...find out that John McVie also in band. 6) Couple of years later hear "Oh Well"..."fan" status upgraded to "fanatic". 7) the rest is history.

The short version...
The song that made me order Fleetwood Mac Live was Sarah. For some reason I didn't receive that album. Fast forward to the Wild Heart era. Just happened to be RCA's Record Club selection of the month, and after seeing Stevie on Friday Night Videos and ABC's late night video show (name?) I had to have it. The rest is history. A split vote between the Mac and Stevie. ( I voted Mac) |

But mostly The Dance as a whole. I grew up with that album, my first favorite Mac songs were Everywhere, The Chain & Rhiannon. In Elementary School we had to bring a favorite cassette or CD of ours in, kinda like a Show & Tell, and I brought The Dance while everyone else brought Spice Girls, or anything along those lines. (I think maybe the Backstreet Boys & Hanson) ...& no one really identified with me. I can't remember what my teachers thought, but they were probably amazed that I was into such awesome quality music |
