goodnight and go: and you're following the same routine, flicking through the tv.. relaxed and reclining... and you think you're alone...
holy crap, those are my favourite lines from those songs too! the "hide & seek" line actually makes me cry sometimes! although i have to say with "glittering clouds" i do like "domino motion jump starts when we touch" a little better. but the "artist's impression" part is definitely amazing too.

also, does anyone else think it's strange that imogen heap isn't really that big in the states? it seems like she's an amazing phenomenon on the internet, and i know tons of people who love her here. . .but yet she never gets any airplay? why is that?

she's too progressive I think. she's not hip hop or Top 40 so she won't get much radio play. I can't wait to see how big she gets when she releases her new album and actually gets some promotion. and I can't wait to see her live!

ok. when i was writing the line "the artist's impression," i was thinking, oh but i love the "domino motion" line, too! that one is brilliant for its rhythm. "do-mi-no-mo." exactly how dominoes falling would sound.

i would totally agree with that. and i'm glad. i'd hate to see her go all commercial. she is pretty popular here in canada - she played toronto and montreal twice in the past year. sold out in minutes both times.

all the cool kids know and love her.

me too. I want her to stay just as she is...lots of artists make it without being commercial and staying true to their own art.

she sold out in New Orleans quick too, but, at the time, I wasn't a fan.

I'm the only one who wants my favorite artists to be my own little best kept secret? I was a little disappointed when I saw all these people fawning over her in this thread because I thought she was mine! Totally selfish and horrible for wishing unpopularity upon Imogen Heap, but I'm horrible. And selfish.

SYS - Hide & Seek, Headlock, Have You Got it In You, The Walk

iM - Sweet Religion, Angry Angel, Come Here Boy

Details - Let Go, Breathe In (sorry to be so obvious, but they're great)

Other - Speeding Cars, Glittering Cloud, Embers Of Love

Favorite Immi lines. Hm.
"I know that my face is only too familiar to your sleep/ I can see it in your eyes and I can tell by your body heat." (Come Here Boy)

"No response on any level/ Red alert this vessels under siege/ Total overload, systems down, they've got control/ There's no way out, we are surrounded/ Give in, give in and relish every minute of it" (The Walk -- mainly for the way she sings it, but I also like the lyrics)

"Bite tongue/ Deep breaths/ Count to ten/ Nod your head" (Just For Now)

"There, there, baby/ It's just textbook stuff/ It's in the ABCs of growing up" (Speeding Cars)

"Domino motion jump starts when we touch/ The blackout approaching/ Here it comes now, wish me luck/ It's all over, it's all over, it's all over in a flash" (Glittering Cloud)

One of my friends is a die-hard O.C. fan, and her exposure to Imogen comes through that show. They've had a lot of her songs on: Hide & Seek, Goodnight & Go, Speeding Cars, Hallelujah, I think a few more. That definitely got her some wide exposure.

I read that somewhere...that that's where a lot of her popularity began. and I see what Little Nicki is saying and I can't say I don't exactly disagree. I stumbled on her when I was listening to a radio station through my iTunes and heard Must Be Dreaming...you can even search the "What are you listening to" thread and see the actual day I first hear her...I had no idea who Frou Frou was. I had been seeing Imogen on iTunes's top downloads but never really paid attention to it until I heard something else somewhere and then connected her to Frou Frou and got Speak and I've been in love ever since.

oh, btw, anyone see this...

Aisling - I missed this link. is there any way you'd re-up please?

I need to upload Spooky for those of you who don't have it. you have to buy the entire Just Like Heaven soundtrack off iTunes to get it. but it's worth having.
