The new addition to my family...

Speaking of pets in the bed, there has been a time or two when *I* have slept on the couch, because my dogs had overrrun the bed and wouldn't budge!

Last night I had a bit of a "breakthrough" myself with my new cat. She's been pretty skittish around the dogs. At one point last night one of my dogs woke me up because he was pushing me off the bed. I moved him over and repositioned my leg, when I felt something under the covers. And there was Katie Scarlett under the covers, between two dogs, sleeping away. I was thrilled, but a little annoyed as well. This means another one to take up precious space on the bed!

Um, same with Mufy. This morning he was on the ironing board when I was done so I didn't want to put it away just yet lest I disturb his playing. Then later he of course knocked it over and nearly wasted himself. I continually execute bad judgement when it comes to that cat, he is so spoiled. But I just love him so much!

Mufasa likes to spread his love around, sometimes he sleeps in my bed and sometimes in my roommate's. He used to ALWAYS sleep in my roommate's bed until I threatened to stop feeding him. Just kidding, one day he suddenly decided to share himself. This week I have been the chosen one so he's been right next to my face when I wake up, what a lovely sight.

I rescued him from a situation where his human mom had been hospitalized and someone was feeding him but he was living in an apartment alone for a month or 2. A neighbor took him out and began looking for a home for him. My ex went to see this neighbor to buy a fishtank and she asked him if he knew anyone who wanted a cat. He knew I wanted one since I had to give him Raven back when he came back from Okinawa which was very painful. He told me this cat let him pick him up and fell asleep in his arms. I pretty much made my mind up then that I would take him.

When I got him he was about 6 mos old and the very first night I had him he jumped up into my bed to sleep with me. I just thought that was so trusting and sweet, like he already knew that I would take good care of him. Oh I'm misty again looking back on that moment. He is an awesome cat.

Deanna, I am so happy for you that you have your Clancy. I love animals so much, I think about you two all the time, hehe.

I go by Dog Party USA every night on my way home from work. All the dogs in the neighborhood are in the little park with their owners and I have serious dog envy! I really would love one (two) but cannot have one in my apartment. But I will get one someday!
