Ditto. At the close of the segment, it really did look like he was about to do the "head-tilting-to-the-side-to-lock-lips" thing.

Yeah, he qualifies as a spinner for both of us.

I wish HBO would run that again. I started watching it late one night, found it so compelling but just couldn't keep my eyes open. So I don't get your reference.

I so want to see a picture of Cooper's boyfriend, especially now that we know his taste.

It came out on DVD in September, I believe. I had seen a version of the play, so I wasn't really impressed with the movie, but it had some pretty powerful scenes and Mary Louise Parker was phenomenal. Bless anyone who can watch it all in one sitting, though, I'd have to have a few valiums in order to do so.

I liked it - AND - I posted in the Leslie Jordan movie, I met the producer of it last night.

I do admit, it lagged a little, but Pacino, Thompson, and, esp., STREEP were so brilliant in it, I forgive any faults

I AM SO GLAD YOU SAID THIS.

I thought that damned thing this was so overblown, so over-rated and so didactic and ham wanted I wanted to gauge my eyes out with a fork. About forty five minutes into it, that prissy nurse, and the whole script, shifted from being characters talking to each other to mouthpieces talking AT the audience. I muted it, the BF was furious and went home to watch the rest. This was the beginning of the end of THAT relationship.

Not really, but it sure was a sign.

Everything that was good about the play was absolutely obliterated on film. It was destroyed. They took scenes that were incredibly emotional and touching, then turned them into repetitious and dull sequences that dragged on for twenty minutes at a time. Anyone who can look you in the eye and say it was a "masterpiece" is delusional. They ruined any true emotion that was there and turned it into Emmy bait. And I love Mike Nichols, but this offering was unbearable. Go kiss up with Elaine May and make another good flick.

Mary Louise Parker was the only saving grace, but they even turned her story into a cartoon, practically.

Thank the stars you're out of that relationship, he sounds like the kind of guy who reads Nicholas Sparks novels and cries.

It was nothing more than Emmy bait to me.

Thompson looked radiant, she's always good.
Pacino was Pacino, except with a filthier mouth than usual.
Streep was Streep, good but too conscious.
I can't believe Streep and Pacino won Emmy's for it. It just boggles my mind!

It was Parker's show, IMO.

Not even Streep I thought you said the thread when we were discussing this when it came out that you loved her in it

I agree it cannot compare with the play, esp. the Broadway production. But, I think it was okay, even though I could have done without the nurse's antics

I did like her in it, but I have the same complaints with most of her recent movies. She developed as an actress many years ago and has since become very conscious in her roles. She was great, especially as the rabbi, but I don't think it was anything we haven't seen before.

The nurse's antics gave it some much needed levity, IMO. Nichols bogged it down so much with ham and heavy-handedness that it was almost a relief to see the nurse onscreen.

Okay, if the gossips at DataLounge can be believed Anderson likes Asian and African-American guys. But I have no idea how reliable those stories are.

Thanks, honey, for steering this thread back to the topic at hand: Anderson Cooper and how hot/gay he is. Who the hell cares about Angels in America?!??!

Anytime I like Anderson's show a lot. He and Keith Olbermann on MSNBC are my main sources of news these days. I can't really stand to watch anyone else. BTW--The 411 from the Data Lounge is also that Anderson likes to uhm. . use certain drugs to amp up the sexual experience, and I ain't talking Viagra--you can probably figure out what I'm talking about. Again, I have NO idea how reliable these sources are, but they sure are fun as hell to read!

I never knew he was gay! I used to think he was facinating looking, now I know why. I think I am more into gay men anymore...sigh.

I need to grow a penis.
