I finally heard it this afternoon. Very different and good.

It's on his "Next wave" album but according to Chris, the "Albatross" CD single has the full 11 minute 40 second version (billed as the "sunset mix" but I haven't been able to get a copy of the single yet to be able to see if it is a "full version" of the album cut or a "remix", I have it on order from amazon.co.uk but it hasn't shown up yet).

By any chance, is it the full 11 minute 40 second version of CC's (w/PG) "Albatross" that appears on the "PGFM Best of" CD?

No. It's on for about 5 minutes.
