She needs to change that attitude. It's never easy to make money with your talent. Even in the early days. But, you must keep creating regardless. We would never have had Bella Donna or Wild Heart etc. if she was only doing it for the money and/or sales.

She'll change her mind because something will inspire her.

Last night I was watching a video of Moonlight from the 24K tour and Stevie talked about how, when she made IYD, she didn't care if it didn't sell; "I'm doing this for me".

Moonlight was such a great film. As for Stevie, artists create. That's what they do.

She almost 70 years old. No , she won't change her mind and almost sounds resigned to just doing a few small tour dates and no album or tour to support that album. She's made her millions, now its time to retire. $$$$$

Yeah, I caught that too!!! She may have been doing it for herself, BUT we saw how that worked out. IYD and 24K were not her best moments IMHO.

Not anymore they don't. Older artists are tired to creating and then NOT getting paid for it. She recognizes that its a whole new world with the internet, Youtube etc. There's such assignation in her voice as if to say," I'm not going to say I am retired, BUT I really am slowly phasing myself out. Surely if you are older and more tired then making music (at your leisure) is an easier proposition than undertaking big long tours

Me thinks that Stevie will never "formally" retire, BUT will gently fade away as many do. I believe that from seeing her latest concerts that she has some oomph left in her, BUT not much gas left in that tank. A TP concert here, private event there, will be just enough for her to stay somewhat relevant. She has to be thinking with both her parents gone that her hourglass sand is trickling to its end as well. What does she have left, a good 10 years??

I agree with this completely.. I think Stevie should take the next 10 years and do the following:

-Rhiannon Movie/Play
-Goldfish and the Ladybug animated 3D children's movie
-Autobiographies/Picture Books/Song Books
-Remaster Old Demos, create more box sets
-Release Art (a la Grace Slick)

I didn't know if you were kidding or not, but I would wager that Stevie will never complete the Ladybug movie, Rhiannon play or movie, or her own autobiography.

Art, maybe. A new solo album of new or unreleased demo, maybe.
