Kristen and the kids were on stage before the show taking pictures of the audience. Stella ran up and touched Stevie's mic stand, which was adorable.

I'm just about crushed that a full version of "Gypsy" hasn't surfaced. It's possible that I've built it up in my head, or good acoustics at the venue, or just the result of standing a bit farther back than usual (always better sound quality than you'll get right up against the stage. Not that that will ever stop me from trying for the stage), but I and my seat partner thought it was the best "Gypsy" we'd ever seen. I remember the vocal being wonderful and the twirling at the end was the most fluid I've seen in person. She brought me right back to the video.

Stevie moved very well when she was on stage, but it looked to me like she was limping a little bit when she was leaving the stage and out of the spotlight. In "Stand Back" she replaced the twirl with an odd little dance I hope we don't see much more of. She's clearly not 100%, but she was trying very, very hard for the crowd.

"Silver Springs" blew me away. Haven't gotten the chance to watch video, though--slow internet until I get home tonight. The best one I've seen this tour (though again, that might be due in part to standing a few rows back).

Did anyone else think Lindsey looked rather less than pleased when she dedicated Landslide to Daves Stewart and Grohl? The vibe was downright chilly until they had the standard finger touch/hand kiss thing, and even that felt a little forced. I actually wondered if her dedication was a bit in response to the "Big Love" speech...

^I agree that we're getting a very successful rendition of Gypsy this tour. It certainly does not drag as previous versions have been guilty of doing.

Also, yes, Silver Springs was much more animated, as if Stevie was trying to create the 1997 magic.

I think I figured out the what the new lyrics are to Sister of the Moon for you. She does change the lyrics up a lot. I think she did it because she's a different person now than she was, when she first wrote it and she wanted a more updated version of the song for her fans that will reflect the person she is today. She says:

intense silence
as she walks in the room
black robes trailing, sister of the moon
and a black widow spider makes
more sound than her
black moons in those eyes of hers
says don't trust the world

heavy persuasion
was hard to take
she was gone at the top of the stairs
she loves me. sister, sister

and so I have followed as friends often do
I cared not for love, no money
but I think she knew
and the people they love her
still their the most cruel
she ask me be my sister, of the moon
sister, sister, sister

Some call her sister of the moon
some say illusion was her game
they like to wrap her in velvet
does anyone know her name
sister, sister, sister, sister

so we make our choices
when there is no choice
listen to their voices
ignoring our own voice

well, still we make our choices
living with our choice
listen to their voices
but don't listen to their voice
sister, sister

no, no, uh huh, yeah

Well you could be right or you could be wrong but I will believe you because I can't understand her myself. You must have had to blast that sound in headphones to figure that out, no?

I did have to turn the volume up pretty high .

I also had my son listen to it too, to try and get the lyrics right. I am 99% sure it's right, but it's hard to tell for sure because it seems she mumbles some of the words.

Tell your son I appreciate his hard work and if I haven't already said so to you, "welcome to The Ledge!"

Thanks for doing this. I think you're mostly right, although I've bolded what I heard differently.

When I said I was 99% sure about the lyrics, I was also thinking about the line: more sound than her, because I also thought she said more sense to her, but that did not make sense to me, so I thought I was hearing it wrong.

So maybe she is saying: and a black widow spider makes
more sense to her.
Which again I am not sure I understand the meaning of that line. Do you have any suggestions?

the other 2 lines I will have to go back and listen to again, you maybe right about those 2 lines too.

Well, this is Stevie, so I'm not entirely sure it's supposed to make all that much sense, lol. And I honestly can't figure it out. Mostly, I think its simply a line already in the song that she could tweak (changing 'me' to 'her') to rhyme with the line she wanted to add ('don't trust the world').

HOLY CRAP that Silver Springs gave me freaking CHILLS. She hasn't shown that much passion doing that song since Atlanta 2004. I am FLOORED.

It does my heart good to know she still has it in her.
