What does that have to do with intelligence? You may not like their views on issues, but it hardly makes them less intelligent. There are plenty of idiots in the Democratic party as well. For the record I'm an Independent, and don't have much use for either party.

Stevie manages to get both qualities into her songs: her own airhead ramblings & the Oscar Wilde phrases she steals!

Actually I genuinly believe she is very intelligent, based on her often complicated lyrics and just some of the things she comes out with in interviews, she seems very well read etc; I know this is not the same as IQ, BUT I do believe shes very smart.

Lindsey is a genius, and it shows.

I really can't rate the members though.

Hey, that's just the poet that she is...

But, she's smart enough to be richer than any of us! (I think)...

There's a big difference between intelligence and maturity.

Whether someone agrees with your above statement or not, its unavoidable that she can manipulate words (specifically images) to fit her purpose beautifully.

I can think of three or four examples with artful phrases or interesting images. Otherwise, I would say that Madame Stevie is no more gifted at poetry or prose than my beloved grandpa is. In my view, Stevie's talents are in singing & performing. She has cool visual style. But we're getting off the I.Q. track of the thread here. I think Rick Vito has the highest I.Q. (ability to learn, understand, & solve abstract problems) of anyone in the band, possibly excepting Bob Welch.

But Bob Welch is only number seven in your list! And how come you left out Billy Burnette? That low, eh?

I didn't rate Jeremy because it would be rude since he reads the forum, but I will say that I think he is one of the higher I.Q.s in the band's history. Stevie Nicks is easily the dumbest. But she's the biggest star, so there ya go.
Why is Bekka higher than John?

I don't feel like going through all three pages of this thread, but here's my two cents:

I think that Lindsey is a genius.
Controlling, yes.
But he's a freaking genius. On the guitar, in the studio...

I also think that Stevie is pretty brilliant herself.
I absolutely love her songs and find the majority of her lyrics very poetic and deep.

And to wrap up the main songwriters of my favorite FM lineup, I'd say that Chris is pretty smart herself. She wrote great catchy songs. Plus I think she would be hilarious to be around when she's drunk

Do really enjoy raining on my parade that much!? If Stevie writes like a junior high school girl, then what are you calling me!? I most definitely do not have Stevie's writing capabilites, and I'm going to be a softmore in high school! :/

That reminds me of what Lindsey said about Stevie in performing songwriter.

What I like about her songwriting is her sense of rhythm. It's superb. Obviously you have to like her lyrics and her voice, but she does a lot with a very little. Sometimes if you examine her melodies, they are not particularly elaborate. She can do repetitive phrases, but it's just how she does it and where she stops doing it, and where she makes a little change up and how I seem to be able to move sections across that change what's going on beneath it.

You most definitely do, pal. Your writing -- your posts here -- is more enjoyable than your idol's prose.

What makes lindsey a genius? People use the word too much. He seems like an intelligent person and is a great guitarist/songwriter. It takes a bit more than that to be a genius.

Stevie's lyrics definitely aren't a sign of great intelligence tho!

I find this question really rude and I'm not going to give my opinion because it's redundant. I just find it totally disrespectful that someone would create this post and that others would respond to it seriously.

All the members of FM are intelligent and sensitive individuals in their own way. End of story.
