Let's see shall we. Stevie's last album which came out just over 2 and a half years ago sold 33,000 in the first week and debuted at #7. I can't see them doing much better, if at all.

I agree with you on this James....
I'd love them to be big sellers, just to lure Stevie back into the studio..
But I can't see that happening.

I'm sure they would love it to sell, but that's not their goal here. This band has never known how to market. They've always just been lucky with having a name. This is a new name and I doubt they are worried about sales. If it sells I'd be very surprised. I just want it to be good.

I agree, but we have to consider that Stevie didn't promote it almost at all since she was on the road with FM at the time.
But as John said, they've never been able at marketing.

I can't see it being a huge seller either. Unless...it somehow reaches the level of Robert Plant & Alison Krauss's Raising Sand, a very successful collaboration/duet album.

Lindsey Buckingham Says Fleetwood Mac's Real Drama Album Wasn't “Rumours”

Rock History Music

Stephen Deusner Talked Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie about their new album and it’s hard to talk this band without a little drama coming up. The calling card for their biggest album “Rumours” from 1977 was all the breakups and broken/bitter hearts smashing into each other but Buckingham says that 45 million selling album was the not the hardest to makes. He ads, “Tango in the Night was the most different album in the terms of getting it done, as that was everyone’s level of crazy – hit the wall. People think of “Rumours” as being the turmoil time, and it was, but in terms of people living crazy lives its “Tango.”

Calling the new duo project, “A nice splinter off the main artery of Fleetwood Mac.”

In the interview Buckingham says he was very intrigued by the fact that McVie was working on new material and a week into working together they knew they had something.

The magazine points out that looking at their 1988 “Greatest Hits” album – over half were either written or co-written by McVie,

Just because they are not calling it a Fleetwood Mac album it still sounds like one and it comes upon it honestly considering the pair are backed up by the bands Mick Fleetwood and John McVie.

Mcvie is obviously hungry after almost retiring for 16 years and not coming back until 2014. She says “We have a serendipitous relationship musically that just chemistry.”

The Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie album comes out June 9th. – by John Beaudin
