Default The CD with Mick's Book

I managed to track down not one but two hardback copies of Mick's "25 Years" book at public libraries I can access. Sadly, neither had the CD, or any sign the CD had ever been there (like an empty envelope or even a tear inside the cover where the envelope had been removed) other than a reference by Mick on the back cover.

The Penguin Discography lists two tracks from the Jeremy Spencer album, Mick says the two tracks were unreleased (although there were other clear errors about song authorship in the text). Can anyone confirm what the tracks actually were?

Oh, I have that. Hold on, let me go check.

Okay...it says: "Don't Go, Please Stay" and "You Made a Hit".

Yeah, well, the book is right in my bedroom on my bookshelf.
I don't know. If you wait, I'll send them to you. Do you want them?

Exclamation

I can confirm that Mick screwed up (no surprise there ), I have the original vinyl of the JS album, those 2 tracks are from JS's self titled 1970 solo album same versions, same everything.

Just as "String a long" from the "25 Years: The chain" box also claims to be another "unreleased FM" track, it's not. That's also from that same JS album, same version & all.

...and I know ChiliD, they could be considered FM tracks since MF, JM & DK play on them too (& PG on "String a long"), but since they CHOSE to release them on a JS SOLO album... JMHO though.

Anyways, hope this helps Neb-Maat-Re.

John

Okay, this should be: Don't Go, Please Stay.

http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1...X0TCNEB0JJ6WP9

This should be: You Made a Hit
http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0...X2ZR20H8WA2SUL

And this should be: Mick Fleetwood Interview.
http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2...63IXUEAVAL2LKS

Let me know if there is a problem.

It's a good thing the Laker & Celtics aren't good teams anymore...we'd REALLY be at each other's throats.

If it looks like a duck & quacks like a duck...it HAS to be a duck.

So, if the personnel of a song is: Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan, Mick Fleetwood & John McVie, how could it be "considered" ANYTHING BUT a Fleetwood Mac song? So, if a whole ALBUM from that collection of folks is released under ANY name, it STILL is Fleetwood Mac.

I think you'll see when Rhino/Warner Special Products (FINALLY) gets around to remastering Then Play On, those long-lost Jeremy Spencer album tracks will be included...if not, somebody's head should roll.

It's the same thing as if Lindsey would've released Gift Of Screws back in 1998 under his own name...."Bleed To Love Her" couldn't have been anything BUT a Fleetwood Mac tune.

No problems at all - and I got to learn about .m4a files too, so it was a win all round really.

Thanks again for going to the trouble of posting the files! Greatly appreciated.

Now for that re-master!

Well, thanks from me too. I also bought the book a couple of years ago WITHOUT the CD. However it's hard to do something about that when you buy this from Ebay. So thanks again.
BTW I still have to see what I can do with these kind of files, never heard of them but they seem to have to be played by Nero media player, somehow I'll have to find a way to convert them to .wav or .mp3. I'm sure I'll manage.

really? I just took them from my itunes. Thought they were MP3's. But I really don't know a lot about that, so...maybe I'll take a look when I get home..
