I also think that most of the prep work for the 5.1 mixes we do have were initially prepared many years ago. If I recall the 5.1 dvd of Rumours was initially started back in 1996/97. This is where the Stems for those songs come from. Tango might be very lush but I think loses coherency as it splits the instruments into dofferent channels. Think of how strange Pet Sounds would be is just the individual instruments played. By themselves the parts seem strange but together they make magic. I think Tango is like this. I bet if they had the ability to do it they would have done it.

I got a little flamed a few months back when I wrote the lack of material for the re-release. A second disc of remixes is hardly interesting unheard material. I also was right about the group not releasing any live music from this era. Tango is probably my least favorite Mac album. I may get this re-release someday though.

Omg that Tango In The Night demo is awful. Lindsey's voice is like nails on a chalk board.

Also, on iTunes it says "You and I, Pt, II (full version) so does that mean part 2 was oringinally longer, or are they combining part 1 and part 2? I was very disappointed when I didn't see You and I part 1 on there. I love that song.

Really don't like the demo and am disappointed with the third disc. I hate the extended versions!

I'm happy that all the remixes, including the promo-only ones, will be reissued. Obviously, these won't appeal to everyone. Some of my vinyl copies are pretty worn out so it will be nice to have them in digital form. The "Big Love" remix/edit is pretty rare. It has such a disco-vibe, but what I REALLY love is the addition of the Lindsey's guitar solo (totally different from the album version) during the instrumental break. That part can only be found on the remixes.

I'm gonna pass on this one. tango is by far the worst album of the five. I own the 12 inches, bought them back then. Aweful. All of them. I like Ricky and Down Endless Street though, but I have the vinyl. So there is really nothing that drags me in on this reissue.

Wow, this is pricey. On Amazon UK it's £61.99 (free delivery). Mirage was £51.98 all-in. An extra ten quid....why?

I agree. I remember getting the 12" maxi singles from Sam Goody back then, and I had to return about 4 copies of seven wonders because there was a skip in the exact same place on every copy. Eventually I just put a quarter on top of my stylus to keep it from skipping.

Does anyone know who did the remixing/remastering on this one?

Probably Bill Ingot, formerly of Rhino Records. He's done most of the Mac remasters.

Actually, mine skips too! If I recall correctly, it was toward the beginning. I wonder if it was a pressing glitch on all of those first copies.

That's what I think, too. I'll bet it's one long song that was split into two. At the end of the Part 1, the music changes at the fade as if a different song is going to start...like Part 2!

It would be a travesty if Part 1 were excluded from the reissue.

Actually the tracklist just had a mistake, the tracklist showed on the cover of the album and Rolling Stone's tracklist both say 13. "You And I, Part I & II" (Full Version)*

YES, I think it was during the beginning before the vocal starts, but I haven't played the actual record in many years. I also have the 12" picture discs, but I used them as wall decorations for years so if they don't skip it would be a miracle.
