I misheard lyrics so badly as a child it ridiculous. And just for bonus, the funniest misheard lyric I've ever heard was actually from Destiny's Child "Independent Women." I thought they were saying "Throw your hands on batman." I was really confused by that.

I too heard "Which chord shall I play" on Straight Back.

And for a couple of years, I sang the "words of a poet and a voice of a choir" switched around to "voice of a poet and the words of a choir" I don't know why but I used to get confused on those and it totally works!

But I think "light" can serve as "spotlight" as well. I agree it means "life" too, but considering her profession, I think "light" can cover being on stage.
