In honor of the meat thread, I'm having another meat free day. I'm having Dal Makhani, from Trader Joe's. "From Kashmir, this traditional recipe is made of black lentils and red kidney beans in a rich sauce with hints of butter".
It's really good, and best of all, spicy!

Going to tantalise Homer with this as we know he likes de SPICE!

Yesterday I made a King Prawn Madras hot curry served with saffron rice, mango chutney and popadoms - it was delish (could do with a "yummy" smilie).

Tonight the husband is making Oriental One-Pot Chicken - not as hot as the above but still nice and spicy. It usually turns out like an incredible Chinese risotto - can't wait, roll on 3 hours!

The latter sounds really good, but the former sounds amazing! I went out with my friend, last night, to a Tibetan restaurant, and had curried rice with scallops. On a scale of 5, I ordered a 4, and it was perfect(5 was called "chef's challenge", and I was intimidated by the title!). My friend(he got the same, except a 3) said, "David, you're breaking out in a sweat". I said, "I know, it's perfect!"
I couldn't eat it all, though, so I'll be eating the leftovers, for dinner tonight.
My name is David, and I'm a Spiceaholic.

I had a variation of the traditional italian stuffed shells. Blacks beans, white corn, scallions, onions and chipotle peppers with adobo sauce and a generous layer of manchego cheese on top.

It was the first time I'd had manchego (made with milk from manchego sheep), and it was like a parmesan/monterey jack hybrid.

Well done, you're so brave - it's a great thing to admit being any sort of "aholic"

BTW I absolutely LOVE scallops!

I know. This spice addiction has grown, over the years. I buy 4 QUART bottles of sweet chili sauce, at a time. That lasts me about 6 months. I put it on everything.

Me too. I'm thawing out some shrimp, and going to curry them up, and add them to my leftovers for this evening!

Me too! Since I was about 12. So which is your favorite? Sporty, Baby, Posh, Ginger, or Scary?

I was crushed when Ginger left right before their US tour in the 90's. It was still a great show though, and to be honest, she wasn't really missed. Besides, in the end I got to see the fab five in 2007. Three times in Las Vegas and once in London.
