O.K. folks- the video Jadegypsy made for us arrived today in a good shape- thanks! I brought it to that friend of mine who will create a DVD copy out of the tape. Personally I don't own a DVD player so I don't know too much about this process. He wants to create a mpeg file on a DVD-R. Hope it will work for all of you DVD owners!
The tape, can be seen in the european format too, at least on my VCR, which is about ca 5 years old. The quality is fine so thanks again Barb! My fellow said the DVD will be made on the weekend so I will send the DVD and the original tape to Gerald on monday. If the DVD returns to the US- can somebody send it along to Jadegypsy too? If it stays here in Europe then I`ll do it of course.

Barbs tape arrived today.
Guess what has not arrived up to today?

This was my first amazon adventure. Guess it was my last as well...

So glad the tape got there and is working and the DVD thing is all worked out. I hoped it would work for the european VCRs, worried though since my VCR is about 15yrs old (how it still works is a mystery). Anyways hope you all enjoy the special. Don't worry too much about getting it back to me I have my own copy too, so no rush

O.K. folks- my fellow gave me the DVD today he made for us out of the videotape. I sent it (and the tape) along to Gerald this afternoon and I hope it will arrive safe. He put the doc on two dvd`s- personally I don't own a dvd player so I hope it will work out fine for all of you. Gerald, please let me know when the package arrives.

I got 2 dvd's, but the doc- as a whole- is only on the first one! So I'll copy one for myself and one for mari, who may think of getting me a copy of the Tusk-doc in return! I love the Ledge. And it's "inhabitants" especially.

PS: the doc is in black& white. Couldn't watch the VHS-tape, like I expected.

Great that everything went well. Gerald, there are two formats intentionally. On one DVD the entire doc is as an avi.file as I think. As an mpeg it is also stretched over both DVD`s in case someone can't see the avi.file (depends on what type of DVD player you have I believe, at least this is what my fellow Oliver told me- I don't have DVD)
Anyway- as long as everybody can see and hear it- it`s fine. So have fun and goodnight- Stefan

Umm... Why is the doc in Black and White? Iknow the tape was in color? Just curious, hope ppl don't mind to much. Sorry you couldn't view the tape, gerald. Glad all is going okay with it.

First i tried to make dvd copies. But the AVI-file was unrecognizable for the dvd-software. The MPEG files worked, but were cut over two CD's. One worked, the other part did not have sound. At least, not on my computer, i think i missed some codecs, but I couldn't find them on the net. After spoiling some blanks, I did something else:

I played the AVI file on a computer, recorded it on a Mini DV-casette, and then I copied it towards good old VHS (pal). So now I have two Videocassettes, one for me, one for Mari (sorry Mari, It's a tape, not a DVD.)

It took some time, but at least all the annoying commercials are edited out.

So after 4 0r five days of trying, I shipped all the originals towards StreetAngel in Cologne today, Good luck Maik, maybe you have more succes than I did to transfer it onto DVD, and the video tape Mari, was sent to groningen today as well.

But : I enjoyed it tremendously so i wanna thank jadegypsy and stefan for giving the possibility to watch it!! Thanks guys, you rock!
