Brewery Arts Centre, February 19
Former Fleetwood Mac guitar ace leads the way in new Brewery Arts Centre season
11:20am Saturday 2nd January 2010, by Adrian Mullen of the Westmoreland Gazette http://www.thewestmorlandgazette.co....Centre_season/ GUITAR heroes, one of the great names of contemporary British jazz, dazzling dance and some of the nation’s leading laughter makers are all blazing a trail to Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre. One of the star turns of the new season’s programme promises to be guitar legend Peter Green. With classic tracks such as Albatross, Black Magic Woman, Oh Well, and Green Manalishi under his belt, Peter is sometimes overlooked as the founder and inspirational force of Fleetwood Mac. During the three golden years from 1967 that he led Fleetwood Mac he helped develop the band into one of the top acts in Europe, well before Mac enjoyed a second coming and multi-million album sales from the the mid-seventies onwards driven by the band’s original rhythm section of drummer Mick Fleetwood and bass player John McVie. Peter Green and Friends play the Brewery on Friday, February 19, performing a few of his classic compositions, but focusing on fresh renditions of his personal blues, rhythm and blues, and soul favourites. |
