Default Murrow

My question is did Lindssey influence George Clooney to make a film abou E.Murrow?
Seems strange that Lindseys song should appear on SYW and raise the profile of Murrow - and now George is up for oscars!!!!

Default unlikely

Seems unlikely...Murrow has been a common topic in journalistic/political circles since the Bush administration came into power and stopped communicating with the press.

Do you really think the song raised Edward R. Murrow's profile? The only people in the world who have even heard the song are the Fleetwood Mac fans who bought the album. The song wasn't released as a single, wasn't performed on tour, wasn't publicized in any fashion.

Murrow has always been a rpominent cultural and historical figure, and his example holds a lot of lesson's for today's political and media worlds. Both Lindsey and Clooney & Co. happened to recognize that, but it's almost certainly a coincidence.

True. Jaw-dropping though it was.

I think it would be one of his greatest songs if he'd bothered to come up with a new solo for it.

I actually prefer the SYW solo rather than the SoundStage version.

It's still practically "I'm So Afraid #2," though, just as "Twist Of Fate" is a "Second Hand News" redux. Why such a musically gifted man keeps repeating himself in such ways is beyond me.

Clooney's Dad was a journalist during that era. That's why he made the film.

Lindsey's song is great but there is no influence, I can assure you.
