Next time you listen to WISYA, hear the "Fleetwood Mac" in it.
Listen to the guitar and keyboards, then combine the backing vocals by Buckingham/McVie. Notice how much contrast they have with this scorned and wounded woman. The sound of angels, as Stevie tries to figure out why she can't make it with the one who owns her heart. andddd (Who just happens to be singing 'beautifully' with a tall blonde british woman.)

Try to listen to it in this manner. Why? because Stevie Nicks nails what this song is about. You may not like her tone or timbre, but it accurately depicts the setting.

When you understand it that way, you can then appreciate the delicate voices, keyboards, and guitar that give way to a chamber of living angst.

............. well at least there is a dream left....
I was really hoping they would release the duet version. I'm a bit disappointed in the selection of some of the outtakes. There are certainly more left in the vaults and God only knows why they're holding on to them.

When I See You Again is one of those songs that takes time to appreciate. Every time I hear it I like it a little more, and I understand the heartbreak and the fragility of Stevie at the time.

She nails emotion every so often. This song gets better for me, too.

I wonder if it was pre or post rehab. Because then some of the lyrics about like wandering around, staring at stares would make a little more sense.

I just don't think its one of Stevie's better written songs. It could be better with more time on lyrics and verse. IMHO its clearly a rushed song that is probably close to if not exactly like the demo. It was mailed to the Mac while on the RAL tour. I don't think lots of time or effort went into the song and it shows. My bet Lindsey added his vocal to add something to the song since Stevie was not there. That does add a little more depth to the song but its still not a great song.
Some of you guys are really panning for gold in the shallow waters of Tango
I remember the Rolling Stone review of Tango that was mostly positive but sort of made fun of the endless "what's the matter baby....baby baby whats the matter baby baby's
Stevie at the time still had a vault of great songs that would have really improved Tango. Its a shame she never got to contribute them for this effort and we got stuck with the worst contributions of Stevie songs ever.

Totally biased here, but yeah. Couldn't agree more.

I don't think even Lindsey could save that one...sorry to the fans of this, but as I've said previously, Christine is the only thing that saves side 2 of Tango.
love side 1.

Does anyone know when it was written? I really think it has something to do with her rehab. That would have explained some of the mundane lyrics, maybe she was trying to capture that mundane feeling (staring at the stairs). Adds some context.

I always felt like it was about Kim.

If she sees him again (she=Stevie. him=Kim)
Will your very best friend (very best friend = Robin)
Will your very best friend
Have been replaced by some other?

(Kim went away after he and Stevie split. When Stevie ever sees him again, will he have found somebody new, and then Robin will be really gone, replaced by some new woman?)

And the dream says 'I want you'
And the dream is gone

(this bit kind of reminds me of how she says she felt Robin in the house, the baby's cradle would always be rocking but then one day she went into the baby's room and the cradle was no longer rocking and she knew Robin had finally gone and it was wrong for her to have married Kim. The dream is gone=the cradle is no longer rocking=the marriage is wrong)

Of course it could all be some book she was reading. Or soap she was watching. Or the drugs talking.

Whoever said Lindsey saves it, I agree.

Hmmmm maybe. I really feel like it has a lot to do with rehab. I don't know why but I think the 'you' isn't necessarily just one person, whoever that be (I don't think it's Lindsey though, because it wouldn't make much sense, it would have to have been someone who was 'leaving' her/her life in some way). I think it might be like maybe her former self?
