Well, IDK....Vince Gill is a BAD ASS. If we're talking pure talent, he's a much better singer and guitar player than Glenn. No contest.

I saw their two consecutive Nashville shows last tour. Unfortunately, the only times I've seen them. After they reunited in 1994, tickets were always so damned expensive that I put it off as, "I'll get around to it some day". Some day died, when Glenn did.

I'm just not a fan of legendary bands cobbling together a Frankenstein monster of hired hands for purely mercenary reasons .I wish I had been a bigger fan of Led Zeppelin back in the day as they had the class to call it quits when John Bonham passed.

Agreed. Same. IF it weren't for it being Vince Gill(of whom I was already a fairly big fan) and Glenn's son, it probably wouldn't have worked for me.

But they had to replace him, IF they were going to carry on. He sang close to half of their catalog(over their entire career). I can't imagine a show with only Don, Joe, and Timothy songs. It wouldn't hold water.

Again, I agree. Led Zep did the right thing. But that's back when albums sold millions, and that's how artists made their money. Touring is the gravy boat now. And no one will ever convince me otherwise, that the reason they don't reunite now- is because Robert just can't hit the notes now, and it would be embarrassing to try. And I applaud them for that.

Exactly why I made a point to check out The Who, McCartney, the Stones, ELO w/ Dhani Harrison, and Brian Wilson/Al Jardine w/ The Zombies in 2019. And, I’m glad I went to the GbV 100 song NYE show in Los Angeles last year. Legendary show and it gave me an excuse to go to the Rose Bowl. In retrospect, it might have been my only chance to see any of them.

With the exception of about 4-5 songs, I HATE The Who.

Wasn't it Keef Richards who said, "Roger Daltrey's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard"? Old Keef was onto something...

I can tolerate Daltrey..the real nails on the chalkboard for me is Geddy Lee . Musically I 'd like Rush and Peart was second only to Bonzo to top the list of great rock drummers..but can't get past that shriek .

I've never been much of a Rush fan, either. I like Limelight and Tom Sawyer, and that's about it.

$he's horrible now. IDK how people can find it pleasant to the ear these days. Can you imagine a show where there are no backup singers to hide behind?

He also said that he could never work with someone as effeminate as Robert Plant.

I saw Eagles a few times while they were touring Eden. Glenn was not singing pleasantly. Henley stole the show. Timothy is like an angel. Joe's there. Steuart Smith is the man though. Thank G-d they have him.
