I don’t have an answer, but that’s how he opened his 1993 solo shows.

*Speaking of solo, STAND BACK. How'd that come to be? I vaguely recall during that 4 part MTV interview that is on YouTube that (was it Kurt Loder?) Stevie was asked about her solo material and she said no it wasn't being considered for the set. So at some point before opening night, somebody's mind was changed. Were they planning another of her Mac songs that just didn't work out?
I just assumed it was because they needed something more uptempo towards the end of the set.

Lordy did you send me down a few wormholes with that link. Within that 2013 post is a reference to a 2004 post which I had to do a little searching to get to, which then had a reference to an alt.music.fleetwood-mac post from 1997. After taking a nap, that was about a perfect task for a Sunday during a pandemic!

Can you still find stuff on Usenet? Especially from 24 years ago?

I mean, I know Usenet still exists(I think, lol), but most ISPs stopped carrying it as a freebie, years ago. I can't remember when it disappeared from mine, but I wanna say it was the early 2000's.

I just go through Google groups. I don't know exactly what happened but I think they took over all those groups and the old posts are still there. Here's one of the posts I found while perusing today..

Two of those posters are regular Ledgies here. I'll leave it to them to say who they are, although the one is obvious by name.

And when I hit conversations, it's like a trip down memory lane. "David" is there, as is also "Bill Gamelson", $tevie's infamous stalker.

It's really odd, because just a few days ago, "Bill" popped into my head, and I found him on FB. His posts were really sad. Some were "F the world....F everybody". On nearly every post, there were no friends commenting, no likes, no anything. What a sad man...

I believe at one point $tevie's people threatened him with legal action if he didn't leave her alone. 20 years ago there was a pic of him skydiving, and he had a Stevie license plate he was holding as he descended.

Edit - I have a 1000 FM pics in an old folder, and look what I found.

Stevie probably has a couple stalkers.
Dick's got his biggest fan in you

Bill Gamelson - what a strange creepy bird and unfortunately it sounds like not much has changed in all these years.

On one of those old threads I was stumbling through today, I also came across a post or two from gldustwmn or whatever it was. There have been some interesting characters in the online FM community over the years!

Yeah, it was weird reading his fb(which is open for anyone). When you realize they have no friends, it makes you wonder what they might be capable of...hopefully nothing!

Is the gldustwmn the one who used to be a moderator here? She could be okay sometimes, but most of her posts were in the middle of the night, and often off the deep end, and we all suspected she was drunk. She finally blew up and I think she got banned. Not often that a mod gets banned!

I don't hate Dick, he's just an idiot. We ALL have friends who just suck at making decisions. That's Dick. He spends money that he can't afford to lose, and ends up in bankruptcy, over and over. He's the King of Bad Decision Making.

The funny thing is I clearly keep thinking of the same questions every few years and ask on here or answer on a thread, entirely forgetting I have already done so in the past! I also went down some wormholes

If they can recycle the top-selling Fleetwood albums over and over, we can recycle our old posts, right?

The band played a couple of things when Christine returned in 2014 or 15 or whenever that was, and I don’t think they were very nimble on the fret board or in the vocal department at that point, thanks to Father Time. So I would like to have heard some of those things back in 1997 just to highlight more of the group’s old virtuosity.

A 1997/8 Stevie singing “Sisters of the Moon” would have been great

I'd love to think this, and it MAY have been...butt also it may have been a neutered shell of its 1982 self even with her voice still able to hit higher notes. It's safe to assume that a '97 Sisters would have followed a similar arrangement to the 2013 version - a serviceable but not too exciting recreation of the studio version, not too dissimilar to what Rhiannon had become by 1997. Without the solo and really letting loose on the "all the same" part, it just wasn't the same as it had been. Sisters with the chanting "sistahhh, sistahh" and none of Lindsey's magic, was just flat.
