Under The Skin #42 of top 50 Albums of the Year in new Rolling Stone
The Year in Review issue is out and they've put UTS at #42 of the top 50 albums of the year (it should've been higher, but what do you expect from the idiots at RS?)
Here's what they said: In "Not Too Late," Buckingham looks back at his life in Fleetwood Mac with frantic flamencolike guitar: "Reading the paper, saw a review/Said I was a visionary, but nobody knew/Now that's been a problem/Feeling unseen." He could fix that by making records more often. But the eccentricity of Skin suits Buckingham's reflections of his past life and current blessings. And he is secure enough to cover madrigals by Donovan ("To Try For The Sun") and the Rolling Stones ("I Am Waiting"), with quietly magnetic results. Well, #41 is Sean Lennon's Friendly Fire, #38 is Tool's 10,000 Days, #35 is John Legend's Once Again, and #20 is My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade. No offense to anybody who is fan of any of the above, but I really can't stand them.

I love the Chili Peppers' album, but #2 does seem a bit high.
The Raconteurs definitely should be in at least the top 10! |

This list is like the absolute worst piece of crap I've ever seen. But Rolling Stone is really good at bringing the lame and unoriginal, so I'm not surprised.

Honestly you should have seen Q Magazine's list. Now that really deserves the title of worst piece of crap ever.
As for the Chili Peppers. I used to like them, but that album is funk-metal by numbers and Anthony Kiedis is easily becoming one of the least inspired and most annoying vocalists in rock. I still think John Frusciante is a kick-ass guitarist though.
