Wendy Williams’ new series is definitely not your mother’s talk show.

Arriving in an already-crowded daytime television landscape, the self-titled show, taped live in New York and airing early afternoons in Los Angeles on Fox Channel 11, is heavy with the trademark irreverence and candor that has given Williams much success in the worlds of radio and publishing.

In the early stages of a six-week limited run in several major markets, the show is already a viral Internet sensation: This week, she sparred verbally with reality TV villain Omarosa Manigault, and a clip of the pair trading insults and pointed beauty tips drew thousands of hits in less than 24 hours.

Just prior to an interview with the Wave this week, Williams completed taping on an interview with Vivica A. Fox. In keeping with a style well-known to her fan base, Williams did not shy away from inquiring about a sexually-explicit tape of the actress that can be viewed on several Web sites.

“We talked about it very tastefully and very adult-like and she was not insulted,” Williams said from her office on Park Avenue in Manhattan. “It was wonderful, and very tasteful.”

50 CENT has revealed he split up with actress VIVICA A. FOX after the actress hogged the limelight at the 2003 World Music Awards.
The rapper has steered away from talking about the break-up of his most high-profile romance - until now.
He tells America's Sister 2 Sister magazine that many of the rumours surrounding the split are incorrect - and he dumped the Kill Bill actress when she took advantage of his generosity at the awards event in Monaco.
50 claims he invited Fox to the awards show as his date and made huge demands to make sure she could be a part of the show - but then she took over and became the event's host.
He says, "She asked me would I mind if she did something on the show, and I said no. I got on the phone and I told people that was around me to make her able to present awards or do something. They made her the host."
The event made the rapper realise Fox was all about business: "It turned into a business opportunity and it wasn't beneficial for me, so I moved away from it."
And he insists his brief romance with the actress wasn't quite as torrid as the media reported - because he was too busy focusing on his own film career: "There was not a lot of action between me and Vivica at that point."

Clear Channel Radio in August will lend its airwaves to the effort to raise money for the memorial to Martin Luther King Jr. on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

From Aug. 1-28, celebrities, athletes, and elected officials will share their thoughts about King and the significance of building a national memorial to honor his ideals. The month-long campaign will culminate on Aug. 28, when Clear Channel stations in various cities across the U.S. hit the airwaves with a “Build The Dream” Radiothon.

More than 25 Clear Channel urban radio stations across the nation will air the radiothon, including WLVH and WQBT in Savannah, Ga. Celebrities who will lend their voices include Aretha Franklin, Samuel L. Jackson, Stephanie Mills, Vivica Fox, Soledad O’Brien, and Derek Luke. Listeners will be directed to the foundation’s Web site and to (800) MLK-1386 to make a donation and learn more.

The Washington D.C.-based Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation Inc. has raised $94.8 million of the $100 million its aiming for to design, build and maintain the memorial. The first phase of preparation for the site has started.

MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind that actress Vivica Fox is dating actor David Caruso (from the CBS hit show CSI Miami). According to one of our spies, the two of them were sitting "close and cuddly" (deja vu, anyone???) at a trendy Los Angeles restaurant last week.
And according to our MediaTakeOut.com spy, who was sitting within an earshot of each other, David was telling Vivica how much he likes rap music.
