Default Albatross Remix

Question:

There's a version of Albatross redone by down-tempo dj/producer Chris Coco in 2002. It's featuring Peter Green, and it's most definitely his playing. Does anyone know if Peter joined this guy in the studio to record these guitar parts or if Chris has stripped these out of another recording?

For anyone who hasn't heard it, I would recommend giving it a listen. It is not destroyed in any way and is very, very faithful to the original, just with some breezy electronic elements surrounding the guitar and drum parts (which are even softer than what Mick had played, i'm assuming because they're off a machine).

Just a curiosity. Either way... it's fantastic playing on Peter's part, as usual. His tone is like butter.

Yes, this is Peter in the studio recorded during the Splinter Group days, around 2001 I think.

BTW: this version of Albatross is also included in the sampler "The best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac", really a great compilation of "the best" available at a good price, at least in Europe! Worth to have even if you have all the original albums. Just pure fun to listen to!

The actual session took place in Rottingdean, East Sussex on 24 June 2002.

Programmed, played and produced by Chris Coco, Peter Green lead guitar,
Chris Traynor guitar textures.

Nice tune indeed!

Cheers,

Mario.

Question

Is the CC Albatross that's on this best of the album version (from "Next Wave" i.e. 5 minutes) or the promo 11 minute version?

I'd be curious to hear the 11 minute version!

The cover of this best of album is indeed strikingly close to the blue horizons boxed set... were they released around the same time? (I guess I could do a little research, but you guys are such a wealth of information that it's just as pleasurable to see you pull out every detail off the tops of your heads. )
