I am looking for vinyl copies of Out of the Cradle and Timespace. I've never seen them on Ebay. Anyone know where I can get them.

I still have the white vinyl pressing of Fleetwood Mac, never dared to play it to compare the sound quality.

Hmm that's interesting. Was the porno cover a little too racy for Australia or something?

I have had that happen too - I suspect friends of roomates.

I have maybe 500 or so records, and I have nver really considered myself a collector, although I accidentally have some collectibles. I used to work in record stores, so I got some for cheap, and traded records, etc. I have most of my FM on vinyl, but that is just because I am old, and never replaced my originals with CDs. I am trying to digitize some of the records this year.

I looooove records. It's my main collecting thang! At last count solely dedicated to FM and their varying members, I believe I have about 84 LP's (in addition to any American dupes....can't pass up copies of Rumours etc at the Good Will's for a quarter........ ) and in 45's at last count w/ out maybe 6 or 7 new additions I had 123. MANY people have gads more than that, but I'm quite thrilled w/ what I have so far, and it's a never ending search.

When I was in Denver to see SN @ RedRocks, all my freind's flights left before me which gave me just barely enough time to seek out Record Stores in Denver. I mean here I was in another state, didn't know my way around for squat, and I was seeking record stores. Isn't there a "Audophiles" annonymous??????

I haven't listened to my vinyl in ages, but I love the sound and I agree w/ everyone here, no CD can compare to the great artwork on the original 12"s.

I love that cover. I think it's nicer than the real cover *suddenly remembers Lindsey's chest* OK, maybe not _nicer_... Anyway, it's really class!

Most of what was produced during the beloved B/N era of Fleetwood Mac was mastered with the trappings of vinyl in mind... the warmer sound, the mid-range gain. That's why so much of the first-issue CD stuff sounded so hollow and disappointing (the absolutely awful Mirage CD comes to mind).

Now that we have the first three albums re-issued and remastered, I'm much happier listening to them on CD. But the bottom line is that the recording and producing process was still all analog, and the sound back then was just created to be listened to on vinyl. That's why I think you haven't heard Rumours unless you've heard that audiophile vinyl from a good turntable, a tube amp and good speakers. It sounds amazing.

And even the mass market issue LP of Mirage beats the CD six ways from Sunday. I didn't realize what a gorgeous album that was until I finally got a nice vinyl copy and listened through headphones.

Very few people I know like Mirage! Maybe they should all get themselves an LP of it...

I can't wait to get my record player working and listen to my LPs!

Yeah I'm an LP collector, but mostly for the "cheap" factor. I'm not overly concerned about perfect quality of the cover, don't get me wrong I love the cover art, but I'm not going to pass up a $1 LP is the record is in good condition but the cover is lousy. I suppose I have several collectables, but thats more due to coincidence that anything else.

I do have B/N on LP, think it cost $1 at a library sale? As for Mirage I've only heard it on record, I like it but I wish Lindseys songs had been better...

Sorry I never answered you guys - I was away in Spain

I've never actually had a copy in my hands, but the 'Kiln House' LP definitely had this fold-out photo leaflet thing with it. I saw it on eBay, but when the price went skywards, I passed on it. Here's a pic:

The original LPs had gatefold sleeves, and the inside had a small drawing of a sunset, presumably by Chris, as it's in the very same style as the front and back covers. It's expensive on eBay providing people know what's on offer - if it's badly described then people won't know there's a leaflet included, and won't bid.

Thanks for your explanation and for the picture! I do have that already.
