Default Lindsey Live Dates

I am currently working on a guide to Lindsey's solo live shows at
- http://www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com/still...tourdates.html (thanks for most of the info to The Penguin of course) however I still more questions keep popping up

Was VH1's Center Stage and PBS the same show and when was it / they recorded?

What instruments did the soundstage band play?

Anyone have any reviews / concerts pictures from LB's gigs that they want to share.

And any corrections anyone can think of.

Thanks in advance

Neil, I am pretty sure that the Boston, Massachusetts date listed for OOTC tour is incorrect. I am remember that it was on a Friday night and I believe it was the 25th of March 1993. I was at that show and I enjoyed it so much that I was going to go to the CT show which was the next night. I never found anyone willing to go with me to CT so Boston was the only OOTC show I got to see.

I didn't realize you'd gone to see LB during OOTC, Pattie! How cool!

Yep, I've been a fan for a LONG time!! I remember seeing Chris Nicks outside the club thinking 'what on earth is he doing here"? He was doing the merchandising for the show. I think that I got a shirt but I don't remember. I know I took an album flat off of the wall. I remember exactly what I wore to the show, too. LOL
It was a great show!! It is a totally different experience to see one of your favorite artists at a small club. I was really into it and did my "Tusk dance".LOL I remember that the show was general admission and that it was sold out. There were a lot of big LB and Mac fans there too not just casual fans.
If I can think of anything else I will post it.

PS: I fell madly in love with Lindsey that night. Not in that sense but as an artist. I always really liked him but that night just took it to a different level.

I am looking for this show on CD. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Hmmm...I saw the show in Philly and I didn't think they were selling anything. I sure could be wrong, though.

It WAS a great show! I just remember how happy Lindsey seemed. He was so free and at ease with the audience and he really seemed to be enjoying himself. Everyone kept yelling that he had waited too long to come around and he really seemed taken aback by all the adulation that was focused on HIM, just HIM. No "spectre" hanging about getting all the attention. I really felt happy for him. All of the "coming into his own" that people talk about seeing on this tour I fully believe began with the OOTC tour.

Well, thats just it. I know that Chris Nicks was there selling stuff but I really can't remember what he was selling. That is totally unlike me. If I did buy a shirt I don't have a clue to where it went to, thats totally like me.

Hi Neil,

Yes, the VH1 and PBS Centerstage show is the same thing. I believe Centerstage was PBS' live music series at that point. They syndicated it out, if that's the correct way to say it, to VH1. I think the PBS version was actually longer and showed more material, while the VH1 version was edited down somewhat.

What instruments did the soundstage band play?

Just for clarification, do you mean Soundstage (the recent taping) or Centerstage (the '92 taping)?

Lindsey Buckingham at the Paradise in Boston remains the best damn show I've ever seen. It is very much because of that show that I hardly go to arenas and stadiums anymore.

Secondly, I have Centerstage on video. It's an AWESOME video and he makes me cry when he does Street of Dreams!! It's just breathtaking!!

Thirdly, Pattie and Carne, that is AWESOME you guys got to see the OOTC tour!! I was in friggin high school when he came through Fort Worth at the Caravan of Dreams. Sigh...so close to me!!

Duh, nevermind my previous question. I looked more closely at your page for the Soundstage show.

A minor addition to the '92 Centerstage thing. According to this article:

http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/penguin/archive/mix.htm

Lindsey also played ukulele and one of the girls also played mandolin. I'm pretty sure it was Janet.

Plus, Kevin Wyatt was bassist on that first leg of the '92 tour, but I vaguely recall reading something about how he'd agreed to go play for Terence Trent D'Arby before Lindsey's tour was extended, so I think a different bassist was in the band for some of the second leg when LB was opening for Tina Turner. I can't remember his name right now, unfortunately.

Arrow Sharon...

Not only was I a sophomore in high school, but I didn't even know who Lindsey was! LOL I was very much into NKOTB at that time.

Caravan of Dreams is no longer there.

BTW, if they cut Red Rover from Soundstage, SOMEBODY GONNA GET HURT!

LOL

Sorry, should have been clearer, it is the recent Soundstage gig I need the band roles for.

Thanks Pattie for the correction,
I'm in such envy of anyone who has seen a Lindsey solo show

I saw Lindsey at the Sting in New Britain, CT on March 25,1993. I remember that because earlier in the day I had to go and get an photo id at the DMV since I had turned 21 the summer prior, the club had a bar and it was a 21 and older show which required id. I was so glad to be born when I was!
He put on an awesome show. As it was general admission I was front row!! He played Holiday Road which was dropped at later shows. Chris Nicks was there selling stuff which I remember being a T-shirt that said "Lookin' out for (a heart) " The Road 1993
and a drawing of Lindsey on the back.
A bumper sticker with the slogan above and that is all I think.

I saw Lindsey's Out Of The Craddle show on Friday, March 12, 1993 at the Roseland in Portland, Oregon. In my 24 years of attending concerts/shows, that show remains one of the most exciting, powerful and awesome experiences ever.

The Roseland is a small club and he just burned the place down. Everyone who attended knew they were experiencing something tremendous. It's seared into my memory...even the conversations I heard in the bathroom--people just lauding over Lindsey! Everyone was extremely hyped! The energy of both Lindsey and the crowd was amazing. Haven't experienced anything like that since (except maybe Lindsey's guitar solo in his live performance of Come).
