Default Favorite Bee Gees song

I think Bee Gees is one of the most overrated and also underrated bands in rock/pop. I was 12 when Saturday Night Fever was showed. And the fever was the biggest I've ever seen. They played Bee Gees songs every day, every hour, all radio stations, during the break at the movies, on doctors waiting rooms, elevators, the bathroom!!! the whole year!!! It was suffocating. At the end everybody was saturated.

So they hated Bee Gees during the 80s. Plus the end of disco and the "death before disco" attitude, nobody wanted to listen them.

But they were more than a disco band. In fact, most of my favorite songs are from the previous SNF years. If you look for good songs, classic, you may find some interesting stuff. And they had great voices.

I started a joke
Melody (does anybody remember this movie with young Mark Lester?)
New York Mining Disaster 1941
Nights On Broadway
Love so right
Love You Inside Out (yes this is from the disco era)

If I have to choose one from the SNF era, I would choose How deep is your love. It's very romantic but it took me several years to enjoy it again, as I said I was so saturated of the Bee Gees sound after 1978/79

Call me a sucker for a good pop song (or in this case, a good disco song), I like the following:

'One'
'Nights On Broadway'
'More Than a Woman'
'I've Gotta Get a Message To You'

My favorite of these is probably 'More Than a Woman'. My favorite song penned or produced by them (or, at least Barry) was 'Heartbreaker' which Dionne Warwick sang in the 80's, and also 'If I Can't Have You' which was recorded by them and also by Yvonne Elliman (former backup vocalist for Clapton, Joe Cocker, maybe others..)

Never really liked them all that much (especially the disco era stuff), but the John Lennon soundalike song "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights" was a great song.

Oh, don't forget that she did "I Don't Know How To Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar, both on the original recording AND from the movie soundtrack.

My personal favourite is You Win Again. The This is Where I Came In album kicks ass, too

I can't choose just one! The Bee Gees are one of my favorite bands and I tend to have favorite songs for each of their many eras. I'm also a much bigger fan of Robin's voice over Barry's, so I tend to prefer songs where he either gets to sing lead or has a sizable vocal contribution over ones where he does not!

For the 60's/early 70's, I'd say "Gotta Get a Message to You", "Run To Me" and "My World".

70's/SNF/Disco would be "Jive Talkin'", "Fanny (Be Tender With My Love)", "Children of the World" and "Love Me" (you haven't experienced Robin Gibb vocals until you've heard this one!).

80's, I've always loved "One" so freaking much, and the video!

90's/2000 era, my favorite Bee Gees song of all time is "For Whom the Bell Tolls" off their Size Isn't Everything album, random as can be I know, but again, Robin's vocals! Fabulous! Also the songs "Alone" (the song that got me into the band when I was in high school) and "I Will" from Still Waters.

ChiliD and Villavic got it right with I STARTED A JOKE and LONELY DAYS,LONELY NIGHTS respectively. Although even more so I liked the song titled MASSACHUSETTS. But actually all three still really "do it" for me.

Oh yes, in that category, I mean produced(or written) by them but the lead singer is another one... my fave is EMOTION by Samantha Sang (sorry Barbra..)
