Default How long do you think...

Now that the Buckingham McVie album is out. How long do y'all think it will be before we get news on Stevie's next non FM project? Do you think she'll do anything at all? What do you think it will be?

One thought I had is that she could finally record the Rhiannon songs. Those as say, an EP, might be an interesting way to close out her FM story.

I wonder if she will bother with another full blown album.

My hope is that she'll get out of her records don't sell rut and release a solo album within the next couple of years.

Stevie will definitely record more albums... just not necessarily with Fleetwood Mac. I think we're going to get a deluxe edition of Rock a Little and maybe the Other Side of the Mirror, and an album of new material after that.

There are a lot of theories floating around here as to why Stevie didn't record on the last FM album, which then became Buckingham McVie, but the simple fact is, if Stevie had truly wanted to do it, she would have. The rest of the band waited and waited and she chose not to join them for the album, but she continues to speak positively about touring with them next year. But just because she didn't work on their new album doesn't mean she won't record another solo album.

Maybe she will see how much fun promoting a tour with your old mates can be.
Maybe she will see that records do sell.
Maybe she is writing songs right now and will call Mick and say OK I'm in.
Maybe she thinks this new Album is good and wants to be there for the next.

Maybe I've lost my marbles....

I'm hoping this tour, and its success, has sparked something in her to record again. Unfortunately it seems the focus will be the next FM tour.

What I personally want versus what we will probably get...

What I want
*24KG Tour DVD or Blu-Ray
*"(Insert Old Song Here) - Songs From the Vault Part 2" (2018 or 2019)
*ONE FINAL ALBUM with Fleetwood Mac - really wishful thinking here! (2020)
*One last album with mostly new material (somewhere between 2021-2025)
*Autobiography (with a strong editor)

What we will probably get

*24KG Tour DVD (no Blu-Ray)
*Songs From The Vault Part 2 (probably 2019 or 2020, though)
...and nothing else...

I REALLY HOPE the old gal proves me wrong, though.

...and although a Rhiannon Project would be nice in some form or fashion (album, cartoon, live action film or stage musical) I really don't see this happening. Same with the "Goldfish & Ladybug" cartoon. And honestly, I'm okay with that. Those projects are both things she should have "followed thru with" at the height of her creativity/popularity between "Rumours" and "Wild Heart". She missed the boat on those, I'm afraid.

Just my opinion.

Both options look good.... I really really really want 24KG 2. Like, a lot.

It's possible she may do a Songs From The Vault 2. An album of new material doesn't seem likely, though.

It doesn't matter so much to me if we get an official "Rhiannon project," so much as I want quality versions of those songs. They could be on a 24K v2, and that would be fine.

Agreed. At the very least, I'd love to see an official release of "Maker Of Birds", "Forest Of The Black Roses" and "Forsaken Love" on some sort of project. A "Vault Songs Part 2" seems the best bet to get those three songs out there.

I think the only " new album " will be a Vaults 2. I think Stevie wants to get these songs out so she can tell her stories behind them while she still can. Any new music released I still believe will be with Fleetwood Mac.

About that last one, even if it's not an autobiography it seems that by the end of this year a biography on Stevie written by Stephen Davis will finally see the light, it may be even better than an autobiography written by her.
