I always thought Sherrod Brown was going to be her running mate. He is from Ohio and popular there. He used to be secretary of State there and was elected twice before going to Washington. He is to the left which will bring in Sander's supporters. However, the democrats would lose a Senate seat which could blow their chances at control.
Everyone says Kaine and he would be a good pick for her from a swing state and from a state with a democrat governor. The dems would not lose the senate seat.

Clinton wants to pick Kaine. This election will be unpredictable and Clinton needs some excitement so she may not go with the boring Kaine. If the GOP has a disaster convention then Clinton will probably pick Kaine.

Long story short ....my bet is still on Sherrod Brown. Republicans cannot win without Ohio. As they say, as Ohio goes, so does the nation.

So now that Trump made his pick, what are your guesses?
I am sticking to my gut and saying Sherrod Brown. My guess is after the GOP convention, Trump will get a bump and Clinton may want to take the sure bet of Ohio even if it means losing a Senate seat.
Some on her list would not be great.
Julian Castro - too young and inexperienced. Also would never make the cut for an attack dog
Tim Kaine - Everyone says he will be the pick because Clinton is cautious but he is so boring and not an attack dog
Warren - She is definitely an attack dog but could drive away some in the center Clinton is trying to persuade

One pick that I think would have been excellent for her and is not being considered is Duvall Patrick - former Mass. governor. He is a pretty good campaigner and attack dog. Plus Clinton would not have to worry about losing a Senate seat. I think he would satisfy liberals without pushing centrists away. It does not hurt that he is African American either. But I don't think he is being considered.

One thing that is Trump's loss is not having Christie in the debates. I think he would have destroyed any democrat except maybe Warren or Patrick.

I think I am going to be wrong in my prediction. I was reading that Bill Clinton is not fond of Brown because of his strong opposition to NAFTA.
Clinton plays it safe and does not have a reason to shake up the race. All the insiders say Tim Kaine is her best pick.
Can you imagine if she picked Warren? I doubt she would do it but it would be a more lively race.

I'd go for Melania- she's a sure fire vote winner for the Democrats.

I guess in line with Ben Carson's speech at the Republican con there should be an option for Lucifer?

Now in Holland that would mean she was lighting a match, but in the current U.S.A. and it's weird public display version of Christianity it's about casting doubt and assigning possible ultimate evil influence.

Hmmm, Rick Vito is a great sideman!

I'm hoping she opts for the orange or black and white striped pant suit.
