Cheri Caspari Settlement

I've been a longtime Mac fan so I know a lot about most of Lindsey's relationships, everyone of them except the Cheri relationship. Going through a few old thread on here, and having a chuckle while doing so, I've come across a few posts mentioning some sort of settlement that prohibits Lindsey or Cheri from talking about their relationship and/or breakup. Can anyone shed some light on this? Why is there even a settlement? I heard something about a car crash but again, if someone could put their two cents in.

A fan may have said there was a car accident, but I think if Lindsey had been in a serious car accident, it would have made the news. I believe he transferred a small house to her upon their breakup, but I don't think it was precipitated by a car accident.
