Default Btm Lp

A good friend just bought me Behind The Mask on LP for my birthday! Now, here's the thing - it's sealed.

My turntable is not working right now, so playing it isn't an issue. Is there anything so different & phenomenal in the album sleeve/liner notes compared to the CD that I should open this? Or should I just leave it sealed?

BTW - she found me a nice copy of the Buckingham Nicks LP too.

I just got Mirage and an LP player, because someone said I might like Mirage on LP...

Um, my question is...isn't your birthday in May? I feel like yours, Pattie's, and Wondergirl's are all around the same time and I can't remember which is which.

Oh, and I have no idea about if you should leave it sealed, of course.

Nevermind, I accidentally hit the Calendar button and then saw when your birthday was. Hmmm, I thought I had more time...

Yeah, I'm April.

Anyway, yeah, I have all other Mac LPs from '75 on, so this is pretty cool. I really have to fix that damned record player, I don't know if I've ever listened to Mirage on LP!

I'll have to go look but I don't think there is anything different on the LP version. It has the lyrics one side and a photo and the linear notes on the other I think... I need to check though, it's not an album I play often.
Mirage on LP: I think it's only Straight Back that is different on the vinyl.

And, quite a bit different, as well.

You're really not missing anything if you leave it sealed, Paula. I believe all of the inner-sleeve artwork is recreated in the CD liner notes (though with a different layout, of course).

If... when... they ever release a remastered 'Mirage,' I hope they include both mixes.
I was pretty annoyed that despite the wealth of extra tracks on the 'Tusk' reissue, they still failed to include the original LP mix of "I Know I'm Not Wrong."

I have the BTM LP. Everything is exactly the same as the CD version. If you don't have a working turntable, I'd leave it sealed.

AND, they didn't include the solo piano version of "Never Make Me Cry".

Being sealed is meaningless. You can get shrinkwrapping machines (Basically a plastic roll and a heat gun) and people "reseal" stuff all the time. Unless it has a special sticker or something, I wouldn't worry about it.

I haven't heard it yet. Probably next week. I'll let you know. One of my main problems with it was it sounded tinny, and the style of the songs exacerbated the problem. It was kind of the equivalent of nails on chalkboard to me (except Stevie's songs). And so someone told me it sounded much "warmer" on vinyl, and so I will give it another chance.

Am I the only person who thinks that BTM is sounds awful on vinyl? I find myself having to turn up the radio extremely loud and the production quality sounds even worse than on CD.

I wouldn't worry about keeping it sealed - I see BTM on vinyl all the time. Its not like in 20 years somebody will be dying to get a sealed copy of BTM
