Anyway, in honor of Christine, please enjoy these thumbnail (expandable) photos of a beat-up combo pianet. The heady, sexy days of Chris & her German pianet are long, long past. |

I often have imagined what she could have done on a Celesta - the thought is inspiring isn't it?

CM's voice is certainly much more appealing than SN's at this point, I must say. I love Stevie's early solo stuff, but after RAL she loses me, except for The Dance. |

The more I listen to In The Meantime, the more I see how the radio missed out on some killer hits. Bad Journey is not a favorite here... but I love the way she phrases on the verses, "everything was looking good, just like it should" "trusted you with all my heart, never dreamt you tear me apart"
her tone on those verses is so solid.... her harmonies are fantastic as always... these lyrics make me reflect.... I still think the arrangements are a little too simple... You Are needs another section.. but the chord progressions in the intro and bridge so cool!!! Like Little LIes.. to many repetitions... She does however do some different stuff vocally with Calumy... I think Christine's keyboard playing is groovin... she loves to groove with bass and drums and that's half the battle in a recording studio... Would have like to see someone more complex than Steve Ferone... but my guess is he was forced to the chart in front of him. "dont get to ****ing fancy!" Don't forget to read the great write up in the liner notes by her brother.. It's great reading... As for Stevie... I do like her and every time I want to rag on her I have to remember that she wrote GDust, Dreams, Rhiannon, Stand Back, Crystal (ok I'm reaching a little here), EO17, etc.., but I don't go out of my way to buy her new rehashed music or DVD. I love the Rhiannon intro with CM and SN off of "The Dance".. They should have done the whole song with just Christine on Piano, Stevie on vocals and Mick on minor percussion... Simply beautiful arrangement of Rhiannon...

I agree - ot just CM and La Nicks. I listen to those 70's era and even Mirage era (Rhiannon) songs where they both sing the lead and it is just great. Imagine for a minute if CM had come into the TISL sessions instead of Crow or even with Crow. TISL IMO sorely was missing the piano that made BD and WH such classics, not to mention FM. Also, I think La Nicks' voice on a few of the IMT songs would have been great. In the end and as I always say, the product of the FM five are WAY larger than the solo efforts of each, as good as those may be.

They did do that a little, although without Mick on the Tango tour with HAEWAFY. I really liked that, much better than "Landslide".

brown, we ought to get together with the site owner, Michele, since we all live in the greater LA area. We could have fun times chatting & tossing down a few! We could play some tunes if you guys wanted.
