Default Favorite Music Videos (New and Old!)

I've been listening to a lot of old favorites lately, and it got me thinking about how much MTV and VH1 used to actually, you know, play music videos and how bands created some pretty awesome videos to go along with their songs (an art that seems to be dying). SO, I decided to make a thread for people to share one or two of their favorite music videos from the music video heyday period (80s-late 90s) and one or two recent favorites that are either still getting play in the dwindling TV market or are just hot on the internet. Play!

Old Fave: REM's "Everybody Hurts"

New Fave #1: Hanson's "Thinkin' Bout Something"

Thinking 'Bout Somethin'

HANSON | MySpace Music Videos

New Fave #2: OK Go's "This Too Shall Pass"

Believe it or not I think the very best video ever made is "Harden My Heart" by Quarterflash... The visual imagery is just stunning, if you really "get" it. (i.m.o.) Especially at the end when the wrecking machine comes in and smashes
the place the girl had just been in, and then a freaking FLAMETHROWER comes in to finish the job. And the sexual undertones with all the guys coming along riding motorcycles and wearing tuxes - one or two come by, and then one stops - ANY one, kinda-sorta - and she hops on the back and rides off - biggest f.u. in the history of MTV. VERY well done i.m.o., and I feel that it fits the theme - and the feeling - of the song very well. Plus the imagery of the four sides to the woman - little girl, teenager, adult woman, etc. - - - sitting at her makeup table - in a dressing room.
Brilliant!

By the way I played saxophone in band in High School - I wasn't all that great at it but I learned enough about it that I can safely say - - - this woman is the *very* best saxophonist that I've ever seen!

Blondie - The Hardest Part

The most recent one I like is probably Good Boys... even if it is a few years old.

From 1999

I don't listen to that many new bands so as of right now I can't think of any 'recent' music videos I like.

So from a few years ago, Stevie's "Everyday'' video is my favorite 'recent' one

I like Quarterflash. I wonder why they never made a video for "Find Another Fool (To Love You)" ?? I love the album version of that. Cool song I think.

I was never a fan of Coldplay but here lately I've been blasting this song and I love it.

The only music video I've really liked at all is "Tusk"... which has been conveniently removed from YouTube. Most music videos are weird in a way that doesn't correspond with my weirdness, so... Not to say that I hate music videos - they just don't interest me much...

New... i love this video! The concept of walking through the various stages of life is GENIUS. And us fans were able to send in our homemade valentines and they were used in the video. It was cool to see mind in there! Gorgeous song as well!

A fellow Paramore fan! In my community of friends they are called lame, posers, etc....which I mostly agree. But I still love them so much. I was horribly disappointed when I saw them in 07, because Hayley's voice did not do well live.

This is my all time favorite music video. I'm not sure why, because this isn't even the official video, but it is much better than their official release.

And for the old, this is it, without a doubt. I love Marilyn Manson so much, and this video just captivates me. I think 16 years should qualify for old when considering music videos.
