Default Winds of Change

So after years of avoiding it, I finally got around to listening to Time. Overall, the album isn't nearly as bad as the reviews would lead one to believe and overall I found it better than Behind the Mask (Granted I only listened to BTM once or twice, years ago.). In particular, Winds of Change is a very good song that probably could have done well if it'd been released as a single. WoC really does capture some of that Rumours-era sound that makes so many of the 1975-1987 songs so memorable and classic. I can only dream what it would've sounded like with Lindsey and Stevie involved, but even still the song really is great and Bekka's vocals are excellent.

What do you all think of it?

I've always like "Winds of Change". It does have a sort of 'Mirage' era quality to it in my opinion. It's one of the better tracks on "Time" for me.

I'd recommend giving "Behind The Mask" another try. It really is much better than "Time" as far as band cohesiveness goes, again in my opinion. All the tracks seem to fit together better and there's more of a continuity to the album than what I get from "Time".

Check it out, I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed.

Cheers!!

The way Time is tracked emphasizes the lack of cohesiveness of the album. Restructuring the running order can make a big difference in the overall feel.
It took me about 3 months of experimentation, but here's a running order that, to me anyway, brings the album together a bit more and makes it sound more cohesive: (give it a shot...let me know what you think)

I DO
TALKIN' TO MY HEART
I WONDER WHY
WINDS OF CHANGE
SOONER OR LATER
DREAMING THE DREAM
NIGHTS IN ESTORIL

NOTHING WITHOUT YOU
I GOT IT IN FOR YOU
HOLLYWOOD (SOME OTHER KIND OF TOWN)
BLOW BY BLOW
THESE STRANGE TIMES
ALL OVER AGAIN

By far Winds of Change is my favorite track on the album. I don't recall Warner Bros giving much if any support to the album in the states, however that track would have been a great choice as a single.

As much as I like to joke about how
bad Time and BTM is, I really
like Winds Of Change. Though
one song couldn't save an album.
